2007 Gothic Chess Championship Results

Oh, Thanks. Any idea which of the two programs (Fairy Max, and
ChessV) is stronger at Gothic Chess? I've tried both programs
(with other games) but have never played them against each other
in one particular game. Regardless of which one is stronger - I
think they're both well designed, and like them a lot. :)

I only have some outdated info on all of the programs that
played in the 2007 Gothic Chess Computer World Championship:

The "Variant Pulverizer" program was originally called "Variant
Shredder," a name which the programmer of the chess engine
"Shredder" objected to, quite justifiably. Nobody knows who the
programmer is/was but it was a strong program as I recall. It
may be known as "Bihasa" today or that may be an entirely new
program, I am not sure. "Tornado" was another mystery program at
the time. The rest of the programs were all known.
SMIRF was the most improved since 2004. It had an abysmal
tournament that year, but Reinhard Scharnagl was admittedly
still not done developing it at the time of the event. Whatever
he did in the intervening 3 years was a tremendous help.

I am pretty sure that Bihasa was an entirely new program, not
related to Variant Pulverizer. From George Tsavdiris (a very
strong Gothic-Chess player), I heard that he was in the
posession of another engine, created by a reputable engine
programmer for orthodox Chess, which he had received in
confidence for testing. But that the programmer than changed his
mind, and did not want to release it, and did not even want his
name to become public. George described this as a very strong
engine. I always imagined this must have been Variant
Pulverizer.
