New Book: A World of Chess
By: RickKnowlton Date: December 20, 2017, 2:24 pm

I'm one of the authors of A World of Chess: Its Development and
Variations through Centuries and Civilization.
I wanted to make myself available for discussion of the many
subjects brought up in the book.
If you're interested in the book, the best place to get it is
HTML http://AWorldofChess.com
.
You can also get a less expensive digital version on Google
Books

Thanks for the comments. The best way to get the book is from
the site AWorldofChess.com ($45 includes shipping in the U.S.;
add $22 for other countries) (comes signed by the authors).
But if you want an electronic copy, you can get a very good
price from Google Books. They have it as $14.57 :o (marked
down from $26.99)

Great book and I purchased a copy of it just after Christmas. I
am still working through it, but have read the chapters dealing
with Arab and Indian Chess. I like the fresh perspective and
much of my knowledge on the origins of chess have come through
my old reading of Murray's 1913 "Magnum Opus".

Thanks for really looking into our book. Yes, Murray has been
the go-to book for all of us, lacking any comprehensive updates
for the past hundred years. We hope this book will open up the
field to many more game enthusiasts and researchers.
