What do you think? It looks like a nice modern variant which has
an all-too-striking resemblance to Hia Shatar.
HOWEVER: it has drops and a new flavorful rule called "Yasak,"
the kind of Bushido-esque honor system of Mongolia, which has
pieces freeze, a bit like the mechanic "summoning sickness" in
the TCG Magic The Gathering. It's an interesting mechanic that
should be used in more variants.

There are several variants of Kahn Chess (which have all in
common that reaching last rank with a legal King move is a win).
I once had to play a game on an 8x8 board for a general
2-player-board-game tournament. (Also met the inventor there.)
It can give a very fierce fight when one of the players drops
his King in an advanced location. We did not play with the
"Yasak" (freeze) rule then, so I decided to keep my own King in
reserve, for advanced dropping during the end-game, without any
possibility to be checkmated before that.
IIRC, there is a commercial variant called 'Raindrop Chess',
which also has a (partical) freezing rule: there you are not
allowed to capture if your own King is not yet on the board.
That leads to a very interesting dilemma of when to introduce
the King. When you do it too early, the opponent will acquire a
huge lead in development by dropping his pieces with check, when
you do it too late you cannot recapture any pieces he attacks,
which is a big problem when he forks multiple pieces.
