Have you ever had to ban someone from your forum only to regret
it shortly after?
If yes, tell us your story and what you did as a result if
anything!

That happens.
People get mixed up in stuff and then their how attitude
changes.

No, I haven't - since I only ban people as a last resort anyway.
There have been bannings I've been sad about, but those were all
justified IMO!

I've definitely been there, but you got to do what you go to do.

I don't ban someone easily. I would simply prefer to restrict
the user from being able to post on any topic in the community.
He won't be allowed to DM anyone too. He would eventually quit
by himself and walk away from the forum.

It takes a lot for me to ban, as well.
But if I do, then you have done something bad enough to make me
upset and that's really challenging!

As most of you know by now, for the most part I'm about as
laid-back as they come, which is why I prefer general chat as my
niche. It doesn't require so many rules, although as time goes
on you may need to adjust/edit rules as new situations arise,
although I've been pretty fortunate in that department

I think most forum niches can do without so many rules these
days.
I think all the rules helped make forums less popular in all
honesty.
