Who has tried this as an admin and/or user? What mods and
themes you find interesting? How would you compare it to other
paid software and/or free software?

I remember it from way back when. They called it Burning Board
back then.
But I never used it.
I think it's more designed for German and Euro admins more than
anything else.

Do you feel it's a better deal? Supposedly, it has the cheapest
deal for paid forum hosting, but what's the catch?

I'm not sure.
I really don't even consider using WBB these days.

It's 45 USD less than XenForo.

Nice.
I tried vBulletin 6 as you may recall. It was Off Topic Forum
and then I merged over that to Talk Whatever as a rebrand and on
XenForo.
VB6 looked good but wasn't quite up to par with XF.
So, now I'm in that "I'm used to XF" mode and I don't want to
try new things!

Price isn't everything. Some people just like certain stuff and
will pay whatever for it.

Yeah.
I see that with people paying for Invision self-hosted. I think
it's $500 and then $200 each year. If you need those features
bad enough, sure. I just hope people use them too, so you don't
pay all that money for nothing.
