Forums Based on WordPress

Who has tried wpForo, bbPress, or maybe one I haven't heard of?
How was the experience as an admin and/or member? How would you
compare it to other forum software?

Tried wpforo and bbpress.
wpforo is more like a forum that we're used to. bbpress is a
little bit more modern feeling.

The wpForo has some emojis that I like. I have considered using
it.

Maybe modern isn't a good word. I just feel bbPress is different
than a standard forum-style.

Different can be fun. That's the problem I see with so many
forums is they are all the same.

It could be for you and me as the forum owner, but members don't
typically like change. If they have to try to get used to
something entirely different, they might not join because of
that.

Huh, never knew that wordpress supported forum software. Most I
tried with it was bridges with IPB/Xenforo, and that was a pain.

I think I've only bridged free software with it like SMF and
MyBB.

WordPress forum plugins didn't try at all. The one I use some
years back was like a punishment. It was very porous and
spammers could get in and do whatever they like. I can never use
it again.

I joined a forum today that is using one.
I got so confused by the unfriendliness that I just clicked off.
I'll let the owner of it know later one.
I wouldn't use them and I'm a big fan of WordPress too.
