Lots of questions raised - the creation story - what's your
opinion on each of the 7 days, what do you think is the reason
to have this story in the bible? Whats your story ? What if the
whole creation story is totally wong? ..many questions ........
       General Bible Study Questions
6 Q adapted from DesiringGod.org As we read through the
chapters, we are reminded to ask the following questions:- -What
STUCK OUT to you this time through? -What QUESTIONS do the
verses raise? -What NATURE of GOD is revealed here? -How do I
APPLY this to myself? -What/who can I SHARE with? -Why is this
       verse in the Bible?

I believe Genesis 1 is written to acknowledge that there is a
God and He is the Creator of everything. Its not meant to be at
all a scientific account considering that this must have been
put into words more than 4000 years ago.
Vs 1&2 states that there was nothing until God said "..let there
be light." What light was this? If its not light from the sun
because that didnt come about until the 4th "day", then how long
       was that first day ?
Also, What does it really mean in the phrase "...the Spirit of
God hovered over the waters ..."?
(The "Spirit of God" hovering over the waters comes from the
       Hebrew phrase ruach elohim.Rûach
       (רוּחַ) has the meanings "wind,
spirit, breath," and elohim can mean "great" as well as "god":
the ruach elohim which moves over the Deep may therefore mean
the "wind/breath of God" (the storm-wind is God's breath in
Psalms 18:16 and elsewhere, and the wind of God returns in the
Flood story as the means by which God restores the earth), or
God's "spirit", a concept which is somewhat vague in Hebrew
bible, or simply a great storm-wind.)

The more I go through chapter 1, the more I think its futile (at
least for me) to try and figure out "how" the world/universe was
created based on this chapter. The account of each "Day" is
indeed open to a lot of different interpretations in my opinion.
Within your own interpretation you can try to pick faults with
the account of the 6 days but surely it would be hard pressed to
conclusively say that the whole account is untrue. If you don't
believe in creation, you can perhaps say that you are
unconvinced that thats how it all happen but it would be too
bold and brazen to claim your interpretation to be the only
       accurate one.
I'd rather not try to explain each 'Day' but rather have the
perspective of hearing your understanding and why you think its
clearly wrong and then try to analyse your point of view... Tell
me where do you think its wrong.
We will probably end up being unconvinced about each others
arguments. I will probably end up saying "we do not have the
mind of God" and you might say " based on the methodology and
knowledge of science that we have today, ithe account in Genesis
1 is not acceptable to you".
