Terebithia narrowed his eyes, the moons-old cat beginning with a
growl- that soon dissipated into a coughing fit.
"Fine. I get it. Justify breaking the warrior code and ignore
the words of those who have lived long enough to have their
family and kits die from battle wounds. I get that you wouldn't
trust the words of the one cat in the clan that's lived the
longest, the only elder. Fine. Why not demolish the rank and
send me off into the forest while you're at it. After all,
apparently my word has no meaning here. And no, not always. A
leader has been elected for a reason, and that's the law of
Starclan. We would have received a sign if she were to be
disrespected, if we were to have been in danger. But we haven't.

The brown tom stood up, dissolving into another coughing fit
before turning and padding into the Elder's Den.

for your cough; it's getting worse!" Spar snapped at the elder,
trying to keep her voice relatively soothing.
