Operation Puma AAR
By: Chappie Date: October 8, 2012, 8:12 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
DAY 1: Operation Puma STARTEX
The first day of Operation Puma was cold, wet and miserable for
not only us but every other airsofter that was on the field that
day. But we played anyway. To start we arrived late quickly made
it down to what was remanding for the safety briefing.
Afterwards we registered and geared up. Once we were done we
chronoed and waited for our rides onto the field. Our starting
base and re spawn for the day was called bill hill. When the
game finally started CCAS was tasked with pushing up into a
place known as hasting village. We crossed a river towards our
objective and immediately received enemy contact from behind
some hay bails. Chief went down relatively quickly, Shortly
after we were reared by what seemed to be one man who eliminated
me. Spetz moved behind me to defend while Chief and I bled out.
While moving to eliminate an enemy he was also hit. There was a
friendly fire team that moved in not to long from the end of our
bleed out and dragged us out to heal us safely. We were shortly
back in the fight.
Once we got back into the fight we started pushing back up the
hill towards Hastings village. We were able to push up to
another hill where we ended getting held up again for some time.
Eventually all CCAS was hit, we bled out and moved to re spawn.
When we got back into the fight we moved up to assist another
squad moving up a ridge and onto a hill to move across it to
help out the people fighting towards Hastings. Once we got near
the top of the ridge we got into a small fire fight which ended
in a cease fire because someone had taken off their safety
goggles due to a broken strap, or something. When play resumed
we continued to move with no resistance up until the hill before
Hastings, when we got there we did meet some resistance and took
casualties but were able to heal them and push through. Once we
got to the top of the hill at Hastings we were ordered to push
through and keep moving forward. CCAS moved down into the woods
and waited for field staff/ player to cut some barbed wire and
move through. Once we got passed the barbed wire and a downed
tree, we immediately took contact from the front, left, and up
the hill. We were all eventually eliminated. After re spawn we
found the majority of our guys heading to re spawn from the same
firefight, it didn't take long to get back onto the hill and
start taking fire again, I don't remember this firefight very
well.... Nor the rest of the day. I do recall hearing about a
second mission in which our team was supposed to find, and
capture a downed pilot but I don't believe that ever got
completed , I am also aware the day ended in a tie.
DAY 2: Capturing Firebases Nail and Ivan
After going to a hotel for the night to sleep, eat, hydrate,
wash/ dry clothes, and just relax, we were fully rested and
ready to play a full day of airsoft! We arrived about five
minutes late but there wasn't much of a safety briefing because
no new people showed up. We had a new serbian team leader
callsign woodchuck, who was very organized, and tactical. Our
teams objective today was to capture Firebases Nail and Ivan
(NATO team respawns) and hold them until lunch break. CCAS was
tasked with moving up the same path as day one towards Hastings
stealth fully so we would be able to eliminate any NATO vehicles
moving through the area. Once we got up to the hay bails we
started receiving fire from the woods on our left and up the
hill towards Hastings. I took Spetz and Carter and moved to the
right side of the path to attempt to get an angle on the tangos
in the woods, we were not able to get a visual. Chief was still
taking fire, after awhile I found a chance to attempt to push
into the woods and take out some enemys, I started moving into
the woods when I took a full auto burst right my arm and my
chest (under my plate carrier). While I was bleeding out I
watched the rest of the firefight, Chief moved up a couple of
bails and was able to eliminate another hostile, as he took him
out, Chief moved up to search for anymore and got hit while
doing so. After our bleed out Chief and I moved to re spawn,
once we cam back we met up with our guys that were pushing up
the hill and assisted them, we grabbed Judge on the way, and met
up with Spetz and Carter further up the hill. Once we got about
halfway up the hill I was ordered to move into the woods to my
left and attempt to assist from that angle. Just as I started
moving down I heard a friendly get shot from someone not to far
to my right, I kept walking with my gun up, and I saw him, just
as I opened fire so did he, I missed and he hit me. The assault
continued and I eventually was dragged and healed by Carter.
After this we found out that our teams push was a success and we
now had control of Nails, and Ivan. CCAS quickly moved to assist
in defending Ivan. Once we got there NATO was just getting ready
to move to their new re spawn at the river bunkers. Their first
assault was quickly ended due to our defenses being so high,
although there were still casualties. In between the first and
second assaults that was a 5 man team that was just wandering
towards Ivan on the side Chief and I were defending. At first we
assumed they were Serbian (friendly forces) then we noticed they
were wearing enemy camo, so I asked if they were hit, they
responded with no, then I asked if they were serb, the said no.
I gave the lead man a semi auto shot to the chest as Chief did a
fully auto burst to finish the rest off. This was the most
hilarious part of the whole day. After this there was another
small assault on our side, Chief and I were both hit, Carter
dragged us into where Judge was defending until we could get
healed. Judge was eventually able to heal us in, under fire.
When we were healed we got right back into the fight Chief was
taken out almost instantly, I continued putting up a fight, I
would pop out behind cover shoot full auto at an enemy and duck
back down, sadly I ended up being hit as well, by and enemy that
was rearing the base. We eventually all got hit, bled out, and
moved to re spawn. When we got back out onto the field we
learned that NATO had taken their bases back, and the obvious
mission ahead was to push back and reclaim them, after a long
firefight and many people getting wounded and healed or re
spawned, we pushed far enough to reclaim the bases and hold them
for the remainder of the phase.
Day 2: After lunch
After lunch we got back out onto the field and were told of a
new objective, the NATO forces were going to attempt to take our
re spawn base, we were going to do our best to no let that
happen. We were again given the task to move towards Hastings
and eliminate any vehicles before they got near the base. Once
we got a plan together we decided the best route to take and got
moving. We got to the top of a ridge and continued to push
forward, Spetz was leading the stack and told us to halt, he
told us via hand signal that there was one enemy in front of us,
he was able to shoot him. We kept moving, as we were moving we
took fire from the path towards Hastings, Chief got hit. Another
friendly squad was following below us and was taking out enemies
that we couldn't see. Spetz told Judge to stay with Chief until
he could heal him while, Carter, and I moved with him to
continue our push. So we moved up and started taking fire, we
were able to take one of them out. But it wasn't long until we
were taken out.
When we went to our new re spawn base, we were not able to re
spawn due to enemies holding our base. Eventually moderators
allowed us to re spawn back at Bill Hill. When we got back in we
started a new defense on Bill Hill, we were not defending for
long until we were told to move up onto the ridge again and
attempt to flank the force attacking Bill Hill. As we were
moving up the ridge we gained a visual on the enemy and decided
to split into two teams, Spetz and Carter was team one, and
Chief, Judge and I were team two. My team moved up the ridge
more to get a better view, while Team one moved across the Hill
to get closer. As we were moving up we received fire and they
got me. Then I heard Spetz and carter get into a firefight,
Spetz was hit, but hit his target at the same time. Carter
waited for a medic to come and grab the enemy that was hit, and
took out the medic. Meanwhile Chief and Judge are about to be
reared by an enemy, the enemy moves behind Chief and Judge
quietly and is able to get Chief. Judge hears the shots and
turns around, they are trading fire, and Judge does hit the
enemy. After he heals me in, and as we decide to move to assist
Carter, Game over was called.
Our team won the operation!
Overall it was great couple of days despite the rain, and other
factors.
The people at GMSOG Airsoft are a great bunch of guys and I plan
on attending again next year for sure.
Thank you to those who cam
Spetz, Carter, Judge, and Chief we pulled through a lot of crap
and we are going to be closer Charlies because of it! HOORAH!!!

Other than seeing chappie red ragged like all the time not too
bad lol. Rain was miserable sept this time I was wearing half
bdus. Blue on blue kills were annoying. ESPECIALLY WHEN I GOT
FREAKING KILLED BY A FRIENDLY 10FT AWAY!!!!!! AND HE USED HIS
ENTIRE MAG. I made a lot of good confirmed kills. Had a blast.
Glad we didn't stay in the damn tent lol. Being dry was nice.
Chopper and vehicles were cool.

I liked it when we were all defending Ivan and we head a chopper
sound then cheif bursts into the air Choppper!!!!! Chopper!!!
Chopper!!!. then as soon as we were all in cover from the
chooper we find out that it was just a civillian chopper passing
by. I also found it friken hilarious when we were all red ragged
against the fence and some dude with a thompson one handed it
and started yelling with his mouth wide open and ran across the
battle field and was never hit once by the at least 20 enemys
along the fence with a truck at the top of the hill even. at
the end he was like "if you guys want me to call myself out I
will". I also enjoyed when spetz and i were taking turns
shooting at the same guy in the shrub across the field. all
everyone heard for the last few minutes was . "my turn, your
turn, my turn, your turn". I also liked it when I shot my
grenade launcher right next to chappies head causing him to go
deaf in his right ear for at least 10 minutes
