MK36 AEG
By: Red Date: March 5, 2012, 3:20 pm

Well, I'm definitely buying a gun, but I wanted to know which
one. This is the one I had in mind-
HTML http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=30790.
The thing is, I honestly don't know that much about airsoft
guns. I know this meets the FPS requirements of your teams'
AEGs, so I know that isn't a problem. The rest is all a mystery
to me. I would like an honest opinion on it if I could. I love
the style, and everything else seems great to me, but like I
said, I know nothing about them. So thank you for the help! I
look forward to hearing what you guys have to say!

It's a good starter weapon, I started with the JG G36C myself.
Only issues are if you decide to do MILSIM mid caps are
expensive and hard to find good ones for them.

Mid caps? Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with that :p

There are different types of magazines
High Caps normally hold around 400-500 rounds and you wind them
to feed.
Mid Caps have a spring and are normally around 100 rounds so you
need more of them.
You can also get low and real caps which are mid caps with
smaller capacities.
The main reason you'd want mid caps is that MILSIM events
require them.
MILSIM means Millitary Simulation and it basicly means we use
more realistic gear and tactics, sometimes going as far as
playing on MOUT Sites (Millitary training facilities)
Another thing that would help us help you is what your price
range is.

I'm willing to spend up to $200 on the gun itself. The
accessories I would have to think about later on, because
they're not necessary. When the team goes down to Montmouth do
they require mid caps?

No they do not require mid caps. Unless you are going down for
once of their milsim days. (which hasn't happened for awhile)
good choice for a starter gun though. You probably will end up
getting something different eventually, but thats a great
starter.

Okay, thanks for the help! That's what I'm setting my eye on. I
love the style, and how it's pretty much used for everything.
I'm loving the bipod, and the stock folds for CQB, which is
awesome.

The gun is a good pick to first start learning about airsoft. It
is a version 3 gearbox, which means you can upgrade and replace
parts easily when need or wanted. With that gun, there is a
couple thing you need to get right now the back.
This is a good battery and charger. Now everyone on the team s
still running a NiCad battery. But if you are going to need to
buy one right of the back i recommend to get a Lipo Battery and
Charger. Both long and short run it is a cheaper option now.
About half the price of NiCad's, but give you much more power.
Since you are new you want to get 7.4V with at least a "C"
rating of 25. The mAh should be a good amount too, i would say
above 1000. The place to go is HobbyKing.com. They have Lipo's
for cheap and charger too. When you get more experience you can
get High Volt lipos to run the gun "hotter". Remember when you
shop for a charger make sure it can charge the larger Lipo's too
when you get to them, no need to wast money for a new charger.

So I shouldn't need to buy a battery right away once I get the
gun? If I do, how about this one-
HTML http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17288__Turnigy_nano_tech_1300mah_3S_25_50C_Lipo_AIRSOFT_Pack.html
It meets everything you said. I'm not sure what to look for in a
charger, though.

I think hes saying that even if the gun comes with a battery,
you still want to get a new one along with it. Because normally
the batteries they give you with your new gun is cheap and last
a short amount of time.
