       Airsmith service
       By: Carignan1022 Date: November 30, 2011, 9:05 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       CCAS Team,
As most of you know I am the team's airsmith. I fix and upgrade
teammates guns when they ask for it or when they need help. I
think it is a great resource for the team to have someone that
knows the insides and outs of any of the guns that team members
have. Since I joined the team I have done this service for free
to anyone that is on the team, Some times even approaching
someone that has a problem that needs help. I work very hard on
these issues and do my best to fix the problem at hand. I have
lots of experience with fixing and upgrading airsoft guns. I
have dealt with almost all of the gearbox versions, some gas,
and spring guns. I can do the most simple tasked to customizing
parts for guns. I have even machined parts for guns when needed
because there was no replacement part available. You can ask
other members of the team about the work I have done. I am in a
hard place with finances and need to find ways to earn money.
This also gives me less time to deal with airsmithing for free.
My questions as above, would be if you would pay for such a
service. I have looked up the cost of other airsmithing services
for airsoft both privet and company. The average cost per hour
was 25$. This does not include parts and for store airsmiths
does not even include part modifications. I know that the price
is high, I personaly think that is to high for me to think about
charging people. I would charge per project not by the hour.
Now what I am thinking about charging for different services. I
       have four category's of pricing that I have in mind;
       1. Basic fixes, this will be 3$.
This will include any fixes that need to get the gun operating
with out the need of opening the gearbox. This will include
hop-up troubles, wiring, inner barrel, magazines, hardware
replacement. These fixes we be easy and fast for me to fix.
       2. Gearbox and advance fixes, this will be 5$.
This is any repairs that need to be done to the gun that will
take some time or opening up the gearbox. These will be simple
tasked like replacing springs, O-rings, pistons, taper plats,
trigger groups. These will be as is replacement and fixes. That
means I will not customize parts to work at this price. This
category will include, re-lubing, checking air seal, checking
shims, AOE (angle of engagement), bushing, and inspecting
gearbox and gun internals. I wont fix the shims, or AOE but I
will let you know how it is and if there will be a problem
address it with you to see what the best step will be to take.
       3. Gearbox upgrades and tuning, this will be 10$.
This will be any major upgrades, this includes inside the gun
and cosmetics. This is gear replacement, piston cylinder
upgrades, and new wiring. This will include a shim job, re-lube,
air seal, and Minor AOE adjustment. Some customizing can be done
too, like removing piston teeth, and polishing the rails. This
is jobs that take a lot of time due to the requirements of hand
fitting the parts for reliable and smooth function.
       4. Customization and modifications, this will be 20$ and up.
This is any major customization's that you want done. Full AOE
adjustment, short stroking, cutting barrels, swiss-cheesing the
piston, and anything else. If there is something you can think
of, I can most likely do it. I will even be able to machine and
       make some parts if needed.
These are prices for work only, not parts. parts will be added
       to the cost.
Now these prices are not set in stone, we can find a good price
depending on what is being done. Cash is not the only payment
too, gear can be used too, depending on what it is. This does
not mean that I will not help people that can not pay. If a team
member is having trouble and cost is stopping from getting the
problem fixed, please talk to me. I will gladly work something
out. i want to make sure everyone has a good time playing, that
mean they need there gear to work.
Please vote on the poll and post any questions or opinions about
this. I want to know how the team feels about this.
       Respectfully,
       Gunny

I think these are pretty fare prices as much as I hate to pay I
understand where your coming from. Also if your interested in
marketing to more people besides the team I might be able to
       help you out with that.

These are certainly fair prices, I will also post up your
airsmithing services on Maine Airsoft eventually here. Gunny
does an amazing job on our guns and has since he got into
airsoft and even before he was really serious about the team. He
will not try to fix it if he doesnt know whats wrong with it, I
have seen him just do things from just a minor tweak to fix
something all the way to remaking a part to do the job. His
services were free but he deserves some cash and as spetz and
gunny stated these prices are more than reasonable. he is also
willing to accommodate any issues you may have with payment.
Just trust me when I say I would reccomend gunny to anyone for
       airsmith work.

i think its about time something like this happened. he does an
awesome job and sometimes doesn't even get as much as a thank
you. Gunny is very reasonable so if you can't pay we will figure
a way to work something out. just remember guys he does have to
have money too. You guys know that me and chappie would be more
than willing to help you. I also hear that gunny like 50 round
pmags just a thought hint hint cough cough.
