Does anyone have some good places to look when it comes to
kitting yourself out with weapons and clothing ??

No...but a friend of mine does LARP already and I am hoping he
will join here, he knows a few people who make weapons and
clothes. I myself intent to make a lot of my costume and might
be able to help with simple items of clothing.

Currently, the easiest way is to either Google "LARP weapons" or
something more specific such as "LARP sword".
Either that or look on EBay as several companies trade on there.
(Be sure that the weapon you are buying is sold as new, due to
the potential safety hazard of a second hand weapon).
There are lots of different companies out there and at this
time I wouldn't want to name one over the other as I believe
this is a matter of personal opinion.
You will notice that there are quite a few that sell from
Germany and loads from the States, as LARP is actually more
recognised and established there, however they are usually happy
       to ship here.
Just have a good shop around first as quality, design and price
       can vary quite drastically.

Hmmm... I would need to confirm this but as I understand it, all
good LARP weapon sellers should have their weapons ready to go
without any further prep, I understand that some sites do also
sell kit to help maintain the quality of the weapons but that
       should be all?
Feel free to contact the supplier directly and they should be
able to heip you if they're any good..?

       Hi All
Check out ebay for costume suppliers and head to facebook
joining groups like UK LARP Kit etc
Some sites off the top of my head are:
       The Viking Store
       Darkblade
       Larp Inn
       Eldritch
       Das Shoppe (Facebook group)
Costume froth is a good place to get advice on making your own
       costumes
I'll note more when I can remember
       Lexin_Shiva (Babydoll at geekfest)

*Wolfie hug Baby doll...I am not the only maiden here???*

Thanks for the information...I shall add links as and when I
come across them. And as I have said simple sewing I might be
able to help people with depending on what it is...also check
Costume patterns I know they aren't quite right but some might
give a base garment to work with to start off.

Amazon seem to do a few LARP weapons. However, they are mixed in
with toy weapons for kids and the cheap props you can get for
       Halloween, so be careful.

I haven't tried amazon but I would be wary as well and buy from
stockists or eBay and look at the specs as some restrictions
       apply

Silly question but even though this is 'high fantasy' is there a
period or style we should be aiming for weapon wise? Or is it
okay if we can justify the weapon...what I mean is I like what I
call Celtic or Viking weapons so would it be that out of place
       to have one?
And if anyone can recommend a good place for boots I would be
       grateful.
