An unexpected ally (Rei'lak and Luna)

---------------------------------------------------------
As the days passed since the town with two duchies settled at
Pensans for the time being, there had been an increase in
reports of roads being blocked and over-run by various creatures
from beyond the Chaos Gate. The road north-east was blocked, a
well-needed supply line for the town of Chaosgate. Not just for
the Crown, but the Claw as well. If they were to survive, they
could not do so without some kind of re-enforcements for food
and weaponry.
Rei'lak Roguewinter was standing before a group of greenhorn
infantrymen and woman from the crowns capital. A small group of
five men that had been sent and gotten through the roads with
some strokes of luck. More than some, come to think of it.
Rei'lak had been put in charge of these fighters and asked to
train and practise with them to help their skills all round with
sword and shield.
The Northman that had undergone many trials and tests in his
life was about to have a taste at what being a leader meant.
What being in charge of other peoples lives meant. Rei'laks eyes
panned around the group of five, watching each of the rag-tag
newbloods.
The first lad, far left. Was Idly itching his nose, on the verge
of picking it. His auburn and curled hair draping down onto his
uniform, his blade sheathed into a frog to his right hand side.
The boy looked no older than 17. Rei'lak frowned at the picking
of his nose before glancing one space to the right. Seeing a
dark, long haired 20 year old man. For some reason the soldier
decided that his sword would be best resting on his right
shoulder, blade down on the metal armor that he'd donned.
"You two, to attention. Now." Rei'lak commanded with his
Northern and grutty tone. He looked down them as they blinked,
snapping to attention as they had been told. Rei'laks eyes
looked across to the next three. Two of them were female
fighters, one with a dark blonde hair and the other was wearing
an iron helmet. But you could judge the overall colour and shape
of her hair from the bangs that came down the sides of the
helmet, the hair was a tinge of dark red. Both around 18-19
years old.
The last one, was a short dwarvern lad. Rei'lak thought and
wondered to himself if he was relate to boldric in anyway,
because for some reason if you're a dwarf you were all related.
Which at least this was Rei'laks idle thought pattern. Anyway,
the dwarvern boy was in his teens. Younger than the first Auburn
haired lad. He actually carried a short dwarvern sword, of his
homeland.
"So, how are you all progressing? Grekhin, i put you in charge
of assesing them yesterday. How did they fare?" Rei'lak looked
over to the one that had his blade on his shoulder. the
Dark-black haired 20 year old. The boy looked up and stared at
Rei'lak for a few moments before replying.
"Taliah and Hat're aren't coming along badly, Captain. Though
Bildan and Cassa need some work." Grekhin muttered with a lazy
formal salute before his arm dropped to his side once more.
Rei'lak looked across an smiled slightly to the Blonde girl,
Taliah and then the Auburn haired boy. but then frowned at the
Helmet wearing girl and the Dwarven boy.
"Bildan, Cassa. You two will train twice as long until i'm happy
with your work----" Rei'laks words were cut short by the Duke of
the Crown calling over to Rei'lak and walking over.
"Roguewinter. I've received word that the supply road from the
North-east is plagued once again, all of our forces are needed
to defend the town. But we cant do it forever without any kind
of supplies. Word has it it's a small group of lesser demons. I
want you and your group to march ahead and take them out and
clear the area so we can have the line running again." The Duke
spoke in his Dukeliness way as he nodded to Rei'lak. "Leave as
soon as you can, please." Lexorn nodded to Rei'lak.
"I see, well you lot. At least you get to see some action eh?"
Rei'lak mutters, glancing to his group before looking back at
Lexorn. "We'll leave early tomorrow morning, first light."
Rei'lak nodded to the Duke of the Crown. Lexorn took his leave
with a slight nod. "Good luck, Rei'lak."
Rei'lak sighed for a moment as he looks towards his group of..
powerful warriors with a somewhat of a frown.. but then it
turned into a smirk. "Dukes orders, let's get ready to head out
in the morning. Make sure you have everything essential packed.
It won't take us too long to get there and back. Now get back to
work the lot of you"
-It seemed that despite the Northman, Rei'lak. His struggles and
grief in his life had led him and pushed him further. He served
his family, and the Crown. He'll continue to struggle probably
until his last breath, but can he keep these recruits safe?
we'll see next time.-
The next day. Rei'lak, Cassa, Taliah, Grekhin, Bildan and Hat're
all set out onto the road to lead them to their destination.
