       Caravan to Chaosgate
       By: guest37 Date: July 6, 2016, 12:06 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
After successfully closing the Chaosgate, the people of the
Crown and Claw dedicated to defeating the demons were travelling
to find its new location. It was a long journey but an important
cause. Sat on the back of one of the wagons, beside some of the
tents, Eglantine was weaving on a lap loom. She hoped to be able
to create a sacred space to allow the apostles and mages of the
Crown somewhere to refresh themselves with meditation and
prayer, her tent was large enough to allow for seating several
people during the day after all. Eglantine hummed as she wove,
contemplating songs or hymns to the steady rhythm of the wagon.

Saethwr jogged down the length of the caravan. Bow in hand,
unpausing in his gait. When he reached the head, he engaged in a
muted conversation with the guards before glancing back down the
line. Once he was satisfied with....... something....... he
gripped his bow tighter and headed off into the wilds.

Willow wandered slowly, just a small distance to the side of the
wagon in which the beautiful and wise plantae, Eglantine
travelled. The young foxling trailed her small clawed hand
through the long grass as she walked, listening to the soft
humming and chewing upon her bottom lips found her thoughts
drifting to her beloved elven friend.
Willow was searching for plants suitable for healing...the
caravan would need protection, healing and blessing...and Willow
was going to be her best to look after all...but especially
       Saethwr.

Riding up the right flank, Astandord was mounted on a pale white
horse, armoured with several plates along its head. Notably,
this is not the same one he left Chaosgate with only a week or
       so prior.
As he reached the apex of a junction some four hundred meters
ahead from the slow moving Caravan, he met with with a small
formation of equally dressed soldiers, all armed with plate,
shortswords for back up and their main weapon of war; a razor
sharp Halberd. The horse came to a stop, as a quick hail and
salute was snapped off from the soldiers, and returned from
       Astandord.
"Schützen sie die seiten der Karawane! Zehn links und zehn
richtig! Schnell!" As the order was given, twenty of the twenty
five men moved to the command, twenty splitting into groups of
two tens, running to protect the left and right flank of the
       caravan.
"Der rest, mit mir! Wir pflegen eine Vorhut!" Second command
given, he turned his horse and made way to return to the front
of the caravan, five of his men then running to catch up and
form a small tight square behind, acting as a forward shield for
all those behind. Undoubtedly, they were marked as the vanguard,
but for Ast, they were the meat to which he would sacrifice for
the rest of the group if required.
As they settle back into the monotony of caravan speed, Ast
turns to look back down the expedition force, calling out for a
       specific force.
"Lady Ethra! I require you for a moment meine frauline!" The
great clatter of movement and the somewhat fifty meter distance
he placed between himself and the others may have rendered his
call useless. As such, he dispatches one of his five men with
him to run back and find Lady Ethra De'Noir to request her
       presence up at the Vanguard.

After having spent the days past jotting notes on the events in
the last town Mulacath's knee had finally recovered from the
final battle enough to ride mounted his horse a black stallion
encased in black and red armor his ranseur on his back.
Riding up to the vanguard along the left flank to observe the
progress of the caravan. As he looks back down the trail of men
and horses Mulacath notices this is the most peace he's seen
these people at with eachother since the wedding of Dante.

It had been a rather uneventful journey from the beginning.
Despite the..'mixture' of creatures who mingled about the
party,Ethra found herself desperately bored of the travel. Each
sustained click of the pitch-stained horse's hooves was enough
to send her insane. It was practically torture. She spent most
of the time simply staring out into the mid-distance,her
sanguine orbs flitting from this tree,to the next. She noted how
sweet the air smelled and it made her feel ill. How sickeningly
pure it was. Ethra let out a prolonged breath and let it linger
before drawing again, her slender fingers clasping the reins of
the beast below her. The Skeus-Koth reached up with her left
hand, steadying the horse for a moment while she teased a tight
hair pin from her deep ebony locks, and let them burst free over
her shoulders. A sound of utter relief slipped from her
mouth, and she went about tucking the pin into one of her many
pouches. She very quickly fell back into her persistent
       daydreams.
The voice itself didn't exactly jar her,but the accent did.
Ethra recognised it immediately. The damned Mercenary.
Without care for anything that might have been trailing behind
her,Ethra sharply pulled on the rein in her hand and all motion
came to a halt. She dismounted, her robes sweeping violently
against the earth as she twirled to face the man who moved to
approach her. Her fingertips ignited with a green haze, with tiny
sparks that danced upon her alabaster flesh. Her other hand slid
onto the hilt of her sword, which gleamed proudly in the early
       evening light.
"Why have we stopped? We've many more hours to journey on this
day." Ethra's usually lustrous tones had grown tense,of
bellicose disposition. She launched forward at an extraordinary
pace, searching for the one who summoned her. It took her a few
moments, but she finally reached the front of the party. She had
       found her mark.
"Astandord?" She spoke at him, curiously examining the formation
before her. "What trouble have you brought upon us now?"

The man sent to fetch her stopped as he noticed her coming up
towards Ast, and turned to re-enter formation as quickly as
       possible with a slight sigh.
With his men still marching, and he himself still riding forward
with them, he turned on the horse to look back and speak. "No
trouble, unless you are intent on causing any Lady Ethra.
Merely, I am required to speak to you. I suggest you get your
       horse and keep pace, ja?"

Ethra would have never tolerated this kind of talk from such a
annoying little creature, had it not been for the position he
held. The Mercenary did a perfect job of vexing her with his
manner of speaking. The way he'd commanded her to the forefront
of the group, like some common pup, made her feel very foolish
indeed. With a sharp sigh and a look of distaste upon her
features, she turned her back on him without a word and made her
way back to the horse. After mounting it once more, she made it
walk to Astandord's side. Ethra paused the animal.
"Required?" She uttered, with a tilt of her head. "This had
       better be good."
Ethra tapped the side of the horse with her heel and it began
       moving forward,at a leisurely pace.

"Ja. Required. As in need to, not chose to. Had I a choice, i'd
merely look at your body from far away and never bother talking
with such an uptight cunt of a Dark Elf, but, needs must." His
words were entirey monotonous, bored. Without looking to the
Lady, he gestures his men and continues speaking.
"Mein men here are currently on their first deployment to this
f**king country and have yet to recieve their cultural
expendature and agreement passes." With a slight sigh, he looks
to Ethra. "That means that if they recieve healing from you, or
indeed anyone else, I am to report them and have them executed,
or do the job myself. We have our own medicinal methods. If you
choose to heal them, make sure they don't remember, and do it
       away from my sight. Agreed?"

A particular type of rage shot through her veins. Amidst the
cool air,she felt her cheeks burning,so much so that she thought
they might explode or burst into flames. She attempted to play
down the matter of his tone and simply stated, "Fine." though it
wasn't. She was so clearly agitated and it was dreadfully
embarrassing. The emerald sparks persisted around her fingers
but had begun to create crackling sounds, like embers abandoning
the fire. Though she didn't speak it aloud, she wondered how many
of the Mercenary's men she could take from the earth, without
rousing suspicion that ran too deeply.
While images of the plots she considered ran rampantly through
her mind, another more prominent thought came forward.
"My Lord Commander." She spoke abruptly, turning her face back to
       the party behind her. "Aramil!"
