Dead Men Walking - CH2 -Unexpected Guests
By: guest15 Date: June 28, 2016, 4:40 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Threemilestone.
Three miles from Truron.
It is twenty minutes past eight in the morning, the rain has
only thickened. Visibility is reduced by a heavy morning fog.
The sun struggles to pierce the grey blanket.
A hamlet, consisting of three small houses rest on a small
plain, surrounded by farmland. It was a quiet morning, save for
the rain and thunder rolling in the distance. Mud splashed as
the pair of unlikely friends arrive from the western most side.
Having agreed before hand that they would rest at the first
village they come across, they moved towards this small set up.
Their movement was not very tactful, nor quiet.
As they walked, Dante was outright singing in Spanish, much to
Astandords chagrin. As they approached, the noise awoke one of
the folks of the village. A cantankerous old git is roused from
his sleep by the loudening ruckus. Getting out of his bed, he
moves dowstairs. Blindly stumbling through the dining hall, he
knocks over a stool and stubs his toe in the process. This was
the unfortunate owner of the home the German and Spaniard have
chosen they want to stay in.

Somewhat short, thick of hair and with a big bushy white beard,
the home owner was an old man. Wrinkles were adorned on his
face, and his personality was almost perfectly stereotypical of
the angry old farmers that were said to live in these areas.
"I swear Im gonna gut those little t**ds this time. If they
even..."
The half garbled rant is cut short as his expression changes to
one of confusion. The commotion outside appears to be
alternating verses of spanish sea shanty and what sounds like an
angry german.... And it was getting louder.

"Dante!" Astandord barks, "We're trying to remain somewhat
incognito. I would appreciate you cease your singing..."
He sighs, slapping himself in a hard facepalm. "We're trying to
get away from Vampires damn it... You were quiter when you were
drunk."

"You must always make time in life for music my friend, for it
is an eternity of silence that awaits us in Hell!" he chirps,
with a grin under his mask.

He shakes his head, turning to knock on the door heavily.
Thud, thud, thud. Three knocks are placed on the wooden boards,
followed by Asts voice. "Hallo? I know you're on the other side,
I heard you cluttering around in there. I ask that you open up,
so that we may seek refuge for a few hours."

The old git stands in silence staring at the wooden bolt lock as
it rattles, unsure as to whether or not to open the door.

While Astandord waits patiently for a moment, he reaches the end
of his tether.
"Listen to me! In three seconds im going to break this sodding
door down and skull fuck whoevers inside! Open this fucking
door!" To punctuate his outburst he punches the door heavily.

Too old to fight and defend his home, he relents. Nervously, he
unlocks and opens the door, looking to the heavily armoured
German and masked Spaniard with worried eyes.

"He is not a nice man..." Suggests the black cowled figure
sitting slumped against the foot of the door frame.

Astandord does not aim to be denied the comfort of the house,
and moves to barge past the old man as quick as possible to get
inside.
"Mein apologies." Ast says, with a slight awkward cough as he
goes to do so.
