Tavern Tales

With a final loving wipe with his trusty rag, Jimmy inspected
the rickety old bar and patted it with a look of satisfaction.
He let out a small groan as he straightened up, absent mindedly
touching his twisted and broken wings. They rarely bothered him
these days, but would every once in a while twinge; reminding
him of long ago battles and escapades that were not becoming of
most piskies, but led him to where he was today. He couldn't
complain, he thought to himself; a roof over his head, a
thriving business and all the demon skulls he could ever want to
crush. Life in Chaosgate was not easy, but it sure was one hell
of a ride.
Standing tentatively on a chair, he heaved down the shutters and
squinted as an explosion of light burst through the windows. As
he dropped the shutters he gave the Gods a nod of thanks that
the rain had finally decided to stay away. Hot sunny days could
mean only one thing. Dry thirsty throats. With a slight skip in
his step, Jimmy headed back to his usual spot behind the bar.
Spinning on one foot and clapping his hands together he whistled
tunelessly as he waited for the first of his customers to
arrive...

Footsteps on the stairs swiftly resolved themselves into the
appearance of a brown-robed Kramvil who gave the impression of
someone who has just overcome a serious problem. Turreted
chamaeleon eyes focused on the bar, and the reptile walked over
to it.
"Good day, sir. I feel in the mood for a celebratory drink. I
have finally managed to ditch the world's most irritating
Karrek, who seems to be under the delusion that we are friends.
Honestly, I could forgive his crass humour, and even his loud
singing, but he was also a ham-fisted son of a prostitute who
kept breaking things that I ended up paying for! I mean, when I
woke up this morning, he'd managed to get wedged in the privy!
How is that even possible? He's now gone off and joined a pair
of mercenaries, and quite frankly they're welcome to the
lumbering oaf. Well, enough of my troubles. Time for a gargle.
Do you have any Holdgut's Special Blue? If so, I'll take a
couple of flagons." The Kramvil pushed a sizeable bag of coin
across the bar. "This should pay for the drink. It should also
be enough to pay for repairs to the privy."

Some time the day after the soulless night thread
--------------------------------------------IC----------
---------------------------------
The battered door creaked open as a man clad all in black with
metal plates lining the leather of his armor walked into the
bar, his fur cloak dripping from the weather of the night before
his golden hair dark and wet from the rain parted to reveal 2
horns on the mans head, as he walked towards the bar water
dripped all over the floor from his cloak and the shield on his
back he checked for a space near a fire and found one so he
carefully took it looking expectedly for those he was with to
enter through the door

After the commotion of the previous night, Astandord did not
recieve much in the way of sleep. This fact was reflected by the
annoyed walk down the stairs, the expression on his face one of
aggitation. He stifles a yawn and rubs his one good eye, then
looking over to his usual spot, now occupied by another.
Another quick rub of the eye and a stretch with a groan. Ast now
spots the two horns on his head, his face souring with disgust.
"Fucking great" he exlaims under his breath. With a shake of the
head, he moves over to the bar, standing next to the Lizard.
With a quick cross of the arms, he waits for Jimmy to deal with
the customer already present.

Noticing the man who came down the stairs Karvrokra let out a
sigh "What could be taking them so long" he muttered in a
clearly distant accent (Irish) while still looking at the door.
He notes the hostility in the man and decides it would be best
to wait for others to arrive in case things go south rather than
approaching the man

appears from the shadow in a black cloak behind karvroka drink
all ready in hand. Takeing a seat next to karvroka pulling his
mask down but leaving his hood up revealing faint signs of green
skin in the flicking light of the fire

Astandord catches the quick clance of green as he idly looks
around, scowling as he does. "Fuck sake" he says lowly under his
breath.

With a nod to the Kramvil closest to him and a quick wink to the
other punters that had walked into the bar, Jimmy took a couple
of flagons hanging from the bar area's low ceiling and slowly
began to draw a foamy tankard of special blue. Carefully eyeing
the bag of gold before him. Most the characters who entered were
vaguely familiar to him. He looked over to Ast:
"Neutral territory Master Kessleryv if you please. That goes
double in this establishment. As long as you have coin, I don't
care who you are, so keep your opinions to yourself you
scallywag; there aint much this piski ears can't hear in this
ol' place so mind yourself! Now, what'll it be?"
He gave a cursory glance to the newcomers and gave Ast his
brightest smile knowing the old cumudgeon would have something
to say for himself.

He inclines his head somewhat, "Ah know. It slipped out. I won't
be causin' any trouble. Though i'll be stopping it if anything
starts."
He smirks somewhat, fishing a few coins to hand over. "Usual
mead if you will, Jimmy."

"How long have you been in my shadow Creeg?" the man chuckled as
he looked at the figure who had emerged from behind him "After I
will indeed need a drink" as he says this he rises from his
seat, still dripping water he walks to the bar and hails the
Piski "Tell me sir would it be an imposition to get some mead?
It has been a long journey south and I long for that sweet
nectar" as he looks at the figure that has been named as "Master
Kessleryv" he takes note of his stature and armor noting that he
is clearly a skilled warrior and perhaps would be best to not
offend him
