approve assisted dying

I'm very much in favour.
I know that af some point. I will need the sort of intimate care
that I was lucky enough to do for my life, but, now that she is
gone, I do not want my children doing for me, what I did for
Sal.
Assisted dying, at a time of my choice, seems eminently
civilised to me

In a way I am happier about decisions made long before they are
needed so long as there remains the option to change your mind.
At least choosing to die at some point before you are
susceptible to outside pressure means that it was always going
to be your choice.
My concern is where there are family members who could
intentionally or unintentionally put pressure on the individual.
Two situations have come to my attention recently, nothing to
do with assisted dying but where family members have manipulated
an individual into changing their Will or LPA. Both had been
made at a time when the parties were younger and contained
clauses of mutual benefit. Later one party got more infirm and
was persuaded to change the LPA so the relatives could control
the money and then the Will so the relatives were the sole
beneficiaries.
Our nearest and dearest do not always want us to do what we
would have chosen to do at an earlier point in our lives.

I have always been against it, but yet who am i to judge what
someone wants. It should be a choice but under very strict
circumstances.

It needs to policed, definitely.
2 doctors and maybe a consideration for the mental condition of
the patient.
The elephant in the room would be any particular pressure on the
patient, by others;
Family, friends, beneficiaries may all have had an effect on the
patient
It's difficult, but, right now, I would like the opportunity to
choose

Hi my 1st reply
I Approve of the right to chose die if you are terminally ill or
in terrible pain which cannot be relieved however not just to
chose to die if you are old how can a medical professional be
expected to make that happen if you are not terminally ill or
suffering
