A Fateful Meeting!: Squad 8 Assembles!
By: Maiku Date: November 1, 2019, 7:04 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
The light of the day had drifted down over the mountains.
Iwagakure was starting to settle into its home life after work.
In the middle of the tired passerbys, 3 people stood together
leaned up against a local Dango shop.
Ezu: Rocks her body idly against the wooden frame of the shop.
Her eyes were dim, lost in thought as she stared to the
cobblestone floor. As time passed, her patience thinned and she
takes a sigh to calm herself every now and then. She'd spent the
last hour speaking with the other members of the squad, getting
to know them decently well. Taira was a little hyper for her but
he wasn't anyone too hard to work with. Being teamed up with him
was more reassuring than the one who'd yet to show up.
"Is he almost here yet?.."
She didn't pull her head from staring at the floor. She just let
the question float out there like it wasn't the first time she'd
asked it. Waiting for an expected response.
King: Looks over to Ezu, noticing her growing impatience. Since
it was his idea to stand and wait for him, the Jounin had to
take responsibility. He lowers his head and raises his index and
middle fingers to the thin space between his eyes. As his vision
drifts to a close, his body becomes abnormally still as he
starts to comb through the village like a masterfully
calculating radar.
As his concentrations drags on, his face sinks deeper in to
dissatisfaction. Finally he breaks the trance with a sigh and
rubs the back of his head.
"Can't really tell with all these people around.. Geez."
He looks left and right with the air in his mouth bulging
against his right cheek.
"The kid could at least be on time for his teammates."
Taira: Leans back against the bench he'd been resting on since
they'd got out here. He was just as bored as the others, using
the clouds as his distraction. He'd eaten his fill at the shop
and after a long day, all he had left to do was go home. With
that on his mind, every minute that went by seemed like nothing
to him. He stretches out, sticking his feet to the road, one
laid over the other with his arms tucked behind his head like a
pillow. He was just getting comfortable.

Chirai: Late to the party, Chirai runs up a familiar Iwagakure
block to the meeting place he'd been repeating in his head since
he got back to the in-land. His eyes drift to the sky every now
and then, checking how much time had passed since he set out
here.
"Oh man, I'm really late now!"
He pushed down his annoyance for his tardiness to keep himself
going. He had to keep hope his teammates were still there. Sure
enough, he'd turn a corner with the name of the Dango shop
hanging high above him in silk drapes. He stops in place and
catches his breath, reading it over three times. His heartbeat
steadied with each read until his head drops to look the nearest
loiterers in the eye.
"Oh! Uh.."
He looks to the girl leaning against the wood, then the man
standing next to her who looked even more displeased than her.
His arms were crossed and his brow straight; devoid of any
patience for excuses. The only one he could really bring himself
to greet was the boy sitting on the bench beside him. He looks
down with a wave of the hand, standing tall and gripping his
headband.
"Hey! I'm Chirai Koma, nice to meet ya!"
He had their attention right from the get go. A heavy weight,
and one he didn't anticipate. He hoped that he could mirror the
confidence that he showed back at that village. One that'd let
people feel they can trust him.
Ezu: She stared at the boy, unmoved by his introduction. She'd
wanted to go home a while ago and the boy didn't even apologize.
She turns her gaze from him and redirects it to the opposite end
of the street. She figured it best she not speak her mind at the
moment.
King: Drops his arms from his sides and smiles lightly as he
walks over to Chirai. He reaches in to his pocket and takes out
a piece of paper tucked and folded so neatly that it made a
perfect square.
"It's nice to meet you Chirai. Don't be late when you meet us
tomorrow."
He'd drop the paper in Chirai's hand. With a pat on the shoulder
with his other one, King started walking down the block. The
custom had been kept and they all met up together to exchange
names. Unlike the others, King had pressing matters on his
plate. He left each of them now with a time for meeting tomorrow
and a brief mission description. As he walked off, he waves his
hand to bid them a true goodbye.
"Pack light. Might be a long trip."
Taira: Looks over the others, seeing that Chirai got the paper
to catch him up to speed about tomorrow. As for getting to know
eachother, he figured the journey would be plenty quality time.
He stands from his chair and stretches with a yawn mimicking a
lion.
"Well then, see ya."
He slips his hands into his pockets and walks off towards his
home. It was nice seeing his old classmates as full genin,
sporting their headbands. He was really proud of his own too. He
started thinking he'd go to sleep with it on when he got home.

Chirai: Hardly had time to exchange waves with his departing
teammates. With one left, he looks to Ezu, face fighting his own
humiliation. He raises a hand up and greets Ezu personally.
"Hey Ezu! So we're on the same team, huh? I uh.. I'm glad you
passed the exam too!"
He didn't know what much to say to break the ice at the moment.
He just started talking. The two of them never had too much
interaction before, but he always did feel welcome by her bright
attitude. Now that it was cold, he felt a little off guard.
Ezu: She looks at him with a blank stare, noticing his wave and
returns a nod of the head to not be rude.
"Just don't be late tomorrow."
She pulls her back from the comfort of the Dango shop wall and
starts walking up the block, heading home. The sky looked like
it was about to rain and she didn't want to get caught in it.
Maybe Chirai would stay there and get soaked.. maybe it'd
balance her annoyance out. The more she walked, the more she
thought about it. All until she was too far away to say anything
about it.
Thus, Concluded the first meeting of Iwagakure's newest
SQUAD 8
