Strange Mist

Description: The small coastal town of Jinbe has reported a
strange mist flowing in to their streets for the past two
nights. They citizens are too afraid to check at night and no
threat is anywhere to be found in the morning. They need someone
with enough resolve to investigate when the mist is afoot
Location: Coast of your country
Reward: 6G[/spoiler]
Exhausted after a close encounter that nearly cost him his life
Ringabel finally reaches the coast of the Land of Fire.
"Did i finally make it?"
Ringabel takes a whiff of the surrounding air as picks up the
salty aroma of the sea. He exhales while stretching his arms.
"That salty sea aroma, i really did make it. I really need to
rest for a bit before i start my investigation, i just need to
find a nice quiet spot with some shade."
Ringabel heads in to the fishing village, finding a nice spot to
rest before starting his mission.

After getting some rest Ringabel begins his investigation. He
walks around the village getting a feel of the area, then
turning his attention to the necklace he took from the cultist.
"This might come in handy later but for now i should keep it
hidden."
He hides the necklace under his clothes and stops infront of a
stall selling produce.
"Good afternoon my good sir im a shinobi sent here to
investigate the strange mist harassing the village. Is there
anything that you can tell me about it? When it started, how
thick it is, color, if it has a strange smell ect. Any
information will be greatly appreciated."
He stares at the man waiting for an answer.

“The mist?”
He looks at the youngster’s headband and instantly recognizes
the leaf’s insignia. His head tilts back with his mouth forming
an oval in his moment of realization
“Ohhh”
He puts his hand on his head, scratching it with a nervous
expression slowly creeping in. He groans and looks out towards
the northwest. The river was just a 1/4 mile away. One could see
it from the gate.
“Well it’s like lake mist, ya know. Just really thick, salty
smell to it too.. River’s never done that before.”
He looks to the sky, noticing the sun reaching the end of its
daily duty.
“None of us have seen it up close. When we check in the morning
it’s gone. We just wanna see if someone’s up to something out
there.”
He rests his hands on his waist and smiles slightly as he looks
to the shinobi.

Ringabel nods as he listened to the man, looking in the
direction of the river when he did.
"I see. Can you tell me around what time this phenomenon started
and if anything out of the ordinary happened that day prior to
the mist appearance? Also has anything gone missing from the
village when you check in the morning, any valuables to be
exact."

The man shakes his head at each of the young man's inquiries.
Their lives have been going on just fine, no robberies.
"No, none of that.. It's just so quiet out here all the time.
You'd understand how weird this was if you were from here."
He chuckles a bit and then lays his heavy hand on the young
man's shoulder, giving it a jolly shake.
"Sorry, sorry, hehe. We really do appreciate you being here..
Just let us know what's up.. maybe you can find out where it's
coming from."
He shrugs his shoulders. He didn't speak too much on his
personal desires, just what he knew the general aura was around
the village. The fears that actually kept their remote living
minds up at night.

Ringabel nods while the old timer spoke.
"I see, il have to find out for my self then. Thanks for the
brief chat kind sir."
"The villagers are proving to be no help at all for information,
i guess il have to do this the hard way."
He smiles and bids the man farewell, finding a nice high vantage
point as he waits until nightfall for the mist.

As the night fell the mist would roll in. As if it arose from
the water like natural lake mist. It was turning a light shade
of purple until it became dense. Then, the water wouldn’t even
be seen.
For the night, from his vantage point, this is what the traveler
would see unfold upon the river.

Ringabel would watch as the mist rolled in, changing color
unnaturally.
"I've never seen mist change to a shade of purple before, odd.
Nothing else seems out of the ordinary about it, i should get
closer to the river and investigate."
As a precaution incase the mist is poisonous ringabell rips off
his sleeve and begins to form a makeshift mask for his nose and
mouth. He then hops from roof to roof attempting to get closer
to the river until he runs out of roof's to jump on.

The river runs between two flat beds of sand with jagged rocks
lining the rims of the water. Grass doesn't grow around the
river for about 30 feet in any direction. The spots closer to
the river were more cleared of greenery than anywhere else.
There was no where to examine the river any closer than the bank
of sand and stone running along its sides. That as well, was
starting to be covered in a thin layer of fog. From the water
itself though, the source was cut like closing the pipes on a
faucet. The remaining mist did as it did naturally, rolling out
further and further until its farthest flickers of vapor
dissipated in the wind.

Sensing no danger Ringabel heads towards the bank of the river
carefully due to the mist around the area. He reaches the bank
and takes out a dagger dipping it in to the river, then he takes
it out to inspect the wet dagger for any chemical reaction.
"Hmmm."
