A Mission For My People - Road to Shinobi

Heki Yori had spoken with his members of his burning village.
The town had just put out its fires and were licking their
wounds from the bandit attack when Heki announced a plan to
revitalize the village's future. In his absense the village was
to build two structures from the remains of their village. A
small single hut for them all to stay in while they would
rebuild the village and an open cabin log that would be build
after their housing area. He didn't say anything about what the
building was going to be fore but he mentioned that it has to be
spacious and with an indoor kitchen.
After giving the men their orders. The six survivors started to
work as Heki packed his only belongings into a small rut sack
and threw them over his back. A moment after walking out of his
burnt house he dropped the rut sack realizing it was to heavy
for him to carry for long distances. Leaving everything he had
with the villagers before heading down a dirt roads in the
direction of Konoha. All he had was the clothing on his back and
hopes for the future.
During his travels he would pass through the forest before
noticing some noise in the distance converging upon him on the
path. In doing so he didn't flinch or show any fear. Staying
clear of the trees and out in the open waiting for whatever it
was to greet him in person.

Ash whistles as he finally approaches the lone traveler. He had
been tracking him for a while, making sure that nobody was
following who could interfere with his plan. His whip dangles at
his waist, his hand hovering just over it. He steps into the
clearing from the tree, still quite a distance from his target.
He keeps his free hand in his pocket, unconcerned with whatever
resistance he might end up facing. He calls out to the boy.
"You don't look familiar. Do you know how this works? I'll teach
you, if you don't."
He grins, his eyes heartless.

"I don't look familiar you say? That's funny, I figured your
kind would know all about the Yori clan. Considering bandits
raided my home about two days ago, burned the place to the
ground, took all the women and children with them. All the money
and everything else they could of worth. Killing and taking
everything but the clothes on my back and a handful of survivors
who didn't fight back."
Heki begins to unbutton the top of his shirt.
"I guess if you want to strip me naked here and now. I guess you
can take that if you like. Or..."
Heki stops after the first button.
"I can provide a better idea. One where you aren't robbing
penniless travelers on the road."

"That so? Sorry, I can't recall every village we've razed. To be
honest, it might not even have been us. All bandits are under
the bandit lord, though, so I'll gladly take credit."
He chuckles, covering his mouth with his hand. He frowns as he
sees his target unbutton his shirt. In his head, he had
miscalculated. He figured that one traveling alone would have at
least enough for a meal. He shakes his head, cursing his luck
when he hears something that interests him.
"Sounds like you have some kind of proposition. That your way of
begging for your life? Fine, I'll hear you out. Speak."

"After the departure of my father. I have taken up the mantle of
leadership of the village, I'm on my way to Konoha to discuss a
new trade route with my village. I plan on turning my small
village into a gamblers den. There I will have access to
alcohol, gambling, and most of all wealth. People will come from
all around in hopes for a lucky string. But I need protection.
Someone to stop future bandits from coming my way, which is why
I purposely let myself get caught by someone like yourself."
Heki hold out both of his arms with a smile on his face. His
hands open as if he was some kind of preacher.
"I will draw in wealth. They will gamble it all away at my
establishment. Those who don't will be graced by a lucky hand
will find themselves loaded and heading onto the unsafe roads
with high spirits. Only for the owner of the den to notify the
bandits. They will attack the winner with guarantee of his
wealth and an easy target to boot. You will know for a fact when
people are on the road with loaded wallets when the picking is
good. You will have a steady cash flow when the roads are
unpredictable. And you can even have women sale alcohol for tips
at my establishment."
Heki cocks his head.
"And please don't think I'm just trying to use your women for
cheap sex appear. Though it will help sell more alcohol. I ask
you, what happens when a person is drunk?"
Heki leans forward. Not actually looking for a real answer, not
that he was going to give you the time of day to answer.
"Their ability to focus on trifle things like their wallets will
be at an all time low. Meaning skilled women in the art of...
making things disappear from ones possession will bring forth
even more revenue. And if you target drunks as they leave their
ability to fight back will be nil."

Ash crosses his arms, stepping closer to the aspiring
entrepreneur. With just a couple of meters in-between them, he
stops, listening intently to the idea.
"A gambler's den, eh?"
He nods his head, already interested in the idea. Anything that
would allow him to increase his revenue stream was certainly of
interest to him, though the idea that he was so easily fooled
into tailing a willing target rubbed him the wrong way. He
should've known it was a trap, he thought. His eyes dart to the
surrounding woods, a quick check to see if they actually were
being followed. He sighs inwardly upon realizing that he hadn't
walked into a trap, exactly. But he had chased a worthless prey
and ended up in a business deal... He puts the thought aside as
Heki continues.
As Heki expected, Ash raises an eyebrow at the mention of the
women. His briefly held concerned were quickly waved away by the
follow-up comment. Pickpockets at a gambling hall! His mouth
regains its toothy grin, a chuckle escaping from him.
"If I didn't know any better, I would've thought I came up with
that myself. I'm impressed."
Ash squints his eyes, his smile suddenly disappearing.
"Now, let's see how far you've thought this through." He places
his hand on the handle of his whip. "What's to stop me from
killing you and turning this village of yours into a gambling
den of my own?"

"The fact that you have no chance in hell of getting a single
tradesmen to actually supply alcohol to you. You need someone
cunning, someone to face the operation that ISN'T a criminal.
You could kill me, but if you took any other person and forced
them to do what I already would do. They could never pull it
off. People getting robbed will draw ninjas. Your group will
sooner or later be forced to leave the area and with it the
clientele. Having to constantly move away to avoid dealing with
threats above your pay grade. Meanwhile, I'll have an alliance
with the ninja and claim it a personal matter and will only
allow those who I deem worthy to investigate it. Causing your
bandit group to be safe from any ninja intervention."
Heki doesn't blink from the intimidation staying strong on his
words that cut the air like a knife.

{Intimidation 16}
Ash is taken aback for a moment by Heki's unflinching response.
The kid didn't seem to realize how much danger he actually was
in. Though, he did have to admit that his reasoning was sound,
he couldn't very well having some punk think that he was in
charge. He grits his teeth and snarls, taking a confident step
forward. His hand doesn't leave the handle of his whip.
"You really think you're tough shit, don't you? Coming out into
the middle of nowhere, not even armed, looking for bandits... A
real piece of work. Now that you found one, you have the nerve
to try to talk down to me? Like you think I won't end you? I
don't need your money, and nobody talks down to me. Nobody! You
hear that?!"
He starts to get more worked up with each passing second, until
suddenly, he stops himself, clenching his fist tightly. He
closes his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. As he
exhales, he reopens them. He continues speaking in a much calmer
tone.
"Now... Let's talk business. What's your offer?"

Heki feels the aggression in the enemies voice as if he was
about to lash out and attack much less accept his offer. In fear
Heki forms a string of two hand signs before feathers begin to
cover the surrounding area of Heki extending out 10 meters in
each direction causing Heki's presence to be drown out as if he
was in a smoke bomb. Heki wasn't much of a fighter but there was
one thing Heki didn't know and that was how to flee was things
got rough.
"Simple, tell your boss to side with me. 70-30 split of all
proceeds form the casino. You can keep whatever else you take."
Heki's ability of speechcraft was strong enough to not stumble
his words. But his voice sounded anything but put together as if
he was that of a frightened child.

Ash blinks several times, unsure of why he was having trouble
seeing clearly. He then notices the feathers around the area. He
assumes that it was something Heki had done, but it didn't seem
to be an aggressive action, so he doesn't respond in kind. It
had taught him one thing, though. He was dealing with a shinobi,
or at the least one that was training in the ninja arts. That
could be a welcome ally. He couldn't help but smile upon hearing
the frightful response of the future casino proprietor.
"Boss? As far as you should be concerned, I'm the boss. You'll
get your protection. You'll get all the protection you need...
And I'll take that deal of yours, but if it turns out you're not
bringing in enough... It's your ass on the line. Understand?"
Ash scowls, implying how serious he was about his latest threat.
Still frowning, he holds out a hand to shake, keeping the free
one firmly on his whip's handle. Trust wouldn't come as easily
as the partnership did.
