Helping a Terrified Woman
By: Callie Raltien Date: November 3, 2019, 11:02 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Callie needed to get out of town. She knew this, but she had to
figure out how she was going to do it first. She needed money.
She needed supplies. And it would help if she had companions as
well. Money was the easy part. She could just head over to the
guild and ask around for jobs, she thought.
"Oi, I'm capable enough! I can handle any old job the guild can
throw at me."
As she talks to herself to psyche herself up, she notices a
woman in front of a house mumbling to herself. She starts to fly
right past, but hearing the words 'rats' and 'home', she's
quickly able to piece together that the woman might need help.
She floats over to her, preparing to question her further.

At the same time a young man approaches the scene, he has a bag
strapped to his back and a long headband flowing in the wind
that was wrapped around his forehead. He walked around shirtless
as if it were normal he seemed to be staring off into the
distance as if he was seeing far off into the future before he
was suddenly awakened by a woman's cries. He shakes his head as
he snaps back into reality stopping directly next to her. He'd
usually ignore it but this was the best time to try and get some
answers for his mission.
"Ah, miss, are you doing alright?"

Callie's introduction is interrupted by the arrival of a
young-looking man. Twirling herself around, she flies forward
into his face, pushing against his forehead with both hands.
"Dirty scalper! I saw her first! Back off!"
She scowls at him, floating back just enough to give him a good
look at her. She was a seven-inch tall, dark skinned fairy, with
violet hair and large purple and black butterfly-esque wings.
She hovers in the air, antennae twitching with fury. Her hands
rest defiantly on her hips.

Locke was stopped in his place as he looked up towards the thing
pushing on his head, he sighs before suddenly he smacks her out
of the air towards the ground.
"Ugh I hate bugs... That was a big one..."
Locke keeps walking towards the crying woman to check up on her.

"Gwah!"
Callie flies downwards as the man swings his hand at her,
narrowly avoiding the dangerous swat. Anger flares up inside of
her even more than it had before.
"Ah! You daft twat! You damn near took my head off, mate!"
She shouts at the top of her lungs, but due to her size, it only
amounted to a slightly more audible sound.
"How many bugs do you know that speak common?!"
She once again flies up to stand in his face. waving her hands
at him to try to gain his attention. It was bad enough that he
swung at her, but she wasn't going to let him get away with
ignoring how angry she was at him.
"I'm talking to you! Listen up, alright!"

Locke turns around quickly as he hears a voice looking for the
source of it, he tilts his head in confusion before turning
around to see the bug back in his face before suddenly realizing
it was that very bug that was speaking.
"Ah!"
As he adjusts his eyesight he notices the extra features on the
bug he quickly came to realize what it really was.
"Oh! You're a little tiny... pixie thing? Sorry about that!"
locke laughs to himself as he scratches the back of his head.

A vein nearly pops out of her head at his flippant response, but
she takes a deep breath and calms herself down.
"Ha... S'alright."
Shaking off her rage, she continues speaking.
"But, like I said, I've got dibs on this one. Something's
clearly wrong with her and I'm sure she'd be willing to part
with a few coins for solving whatever problem she's got. So,
stay out of my way, will you?"

"Dibs?"
Locke tilts his head in confusion this fairy was strange. Was
there really such a thing as "dibs" when it come to helping
someone.
"Coin? I don't need any of that I just saw her crying and
thought she needed a hand."

"You don't need coin?! You truly must be daft. Everyone needs
coin! And you're devaluing work effort if you go around doing
things for free! What kind of suspicious character just goes
around doing things out of the goodness of their hearts? Seems
like you'd have to have an ulterior motive. Very, very
suspicious."
She hovers around in front of Locke as she speaks, bringing a
finger to her lips as she considers the possibilities. Shaking
off her confusion, she remembers her original purpose.
"Right! The bird." She turns around, floating over to the
panicked woman. "Right, then. What seems to be the problem,
Miss?"

As Callie approached the girl weeping on her steps. She would
notice a family crest imprinted on the door frame with the name
Goodwin spelt out in fancy letters. The girl tilts her head
upwards just enough for her to look for feet of the adventurer
though doesn't see anything and her tears flowing from her eyes
doesn't make things clear anyway.
"It's awful just awful." She cries. Your words have somehow
calmed her down enough to make out what she is saying.
"There are rats everywhere in my home. I can't even manage to
enter the house without them attacking me! Please someone please
help me."
