       Powermac 6 died

Si I go to fire up my little powermac 6 and it would not go. I
cleaned the carb and everything seemed fine so I pulled the air
filter off and cleaned things up. I put everything together but
the air filter and it fired right up and was running good
sitting on the tailgate of the truck. It was time to put the
filter back on and cut some wood. The saw died after I put the
filter on!! I take the filter back off and it runs good. The
filter seems to be oil soaked so I am tring to get it clean.
This was a lot of rambling to ask what a good method of cleaning
       these filters is.

I dont know what kind of filter you have there.
I have used the misses dishwasher on occasion for air filters
with good results (dont use drying mode). If that dont work new
       or good used.

       Currently it's squished flat in a paper towel between (2) 3/4 x
12 x 12 aluminum plates I have here for a job. First paper towel
got yucked up pretty good so I am on the second one now. Method
       works without supervision!! LOL ;D

There no middle ground on a mini Mac .They either run like a
scalded ape or they don't run at all .There are more of the
       later than the former .

Pretty old post but it's the same saw so here we go. Last week
I put some gas in it and it started up and "sorta" ran OK. Then
dead, even putting a little gas down the carb and hardly a pop.
So time to go in and I find the spark plug wire is in poor
condition and I suspect was grounding out. So the question is,
what other models used the same coil? I have a few small macs
to choose from or there are a couple on ebay if I need to go
       there. Thanks
