       Husqvarna 50 Magnum

Husqvarna 50 Magnum with Partner 5000 plus piston cylinder
New thread from the old husky thread to save info. Guy in my FB
       CR group has one.
I questioned the use of the smaller white top 50 crankcases as
seen in pic and SB. Putting a partner 5000 topend on one of
       those. See specs.
I recall my white top 50 had the smaller cylinder base. =
(Back in the 80's we were selling a Husqvarna 50 Magnum. This
saw was created in Charlotte, NC by the Husqvarna Distributor
owned by Jim Thompson, The guy that made Husqvarna as far as
I'm concerned. They brought in Partner 5000 cylinders and
pistons and put them on 50 Rancher (the old white top) saws.
These saws were awesome. The first one I received we got out of
the box on Thursday and blew the competition out of the water
on Saturday at the Races. Back then we had Chainsaw
competition's on monthly bases. Husqvarna Sweden made them stop
building them in the states. We built some ourselves after they
stopped. It was a simple bolt on with no modifying at all.
Someday I'll tell you more about the old Husqvarna distributors
that made Huqvarna what they are today.)
I ask owner if they were marked in anyway. = Yes, it was Husky
Power out of Charlotte, NC doing it. A letter "M" was added to
the serial number plate to the modified saws. I'll see if I can
       find mine....
Will share pic here of it when he post the saw.
       Info from SB.
To go with what Corey was saying. Here is from the SB link
posted here under files. = The differences between the model 50
S and 50 R are among other things that the displacement
is increased from 49 cm3 to 51 cm3 and that the SA-silencer is
       replaced.
Due to the changes above, the 50 Special has gone through a for
       each country new specific
testing procedure. This means that no 51 cm3 cylinders should be
       mounted on saws with
       lower serial number than 9190006.
The 51 cm3 cylinder base does not fit the crankcases of older 50
       R models.

The 51 cm3 cylinder base has the outer diameter of approx. 49,7
       mm (the outer diameter
of the piston = 45 mm).
The 49 cm3 cylinder base has the outer diameter of approx. 47,9
       mm (the outer diameter
of the piston = 44 mm)
The inner diameter of the new crankcase is approx. 50,5 mm (this
       crankcase is identified
       with the improvement code F)
The inner diameter on the old crankcase is approx. 48,5 mm
CC added = It was in the 1986 model when they went to the grey
tops the cylinder changed but they used the same piston, then in
       89’ the 50 specials used the 45mm 51 topends.There also was some
late 1988’s i think that got the 45mm topends and labeled as
300th anny saws , last 8 weeks of 88’ production run if i
       remember right.

Long time dealer in FB group CR , Jerr said that serial number
break should be = that cyl/case change was somewhere between 81
       and 85

Only marking that is on the husky 50 magnum.
He said his dad bought new and was a white top.
