       Haven't seen any documentation on reading the Poulan saws. If
       you have any files could you send me a copy. If it's too large,
       just send it on arboristsite. It's amazing the info you run
       across and post in this site.

       Trying to get him to take pics of his info from when he worked
       for poulan. Time will tell.
       But he helped me understand the 2000 type serial number so far.
       Some of the rear handles dont need any help. Date right there on
       them on decal.

       G 89  2.3
       1 Stands for Nashville Arkansas plant.
       240 is the Julian date. About August 1.
       Remaining digits are the serial number.

       Poulan 3800 decal
       Seems poulan used up to 3 different ways so far
       Well, some quality guy decided to change the format along the
       way. It started when they could make more than 9,999 products in
       one day.
       So the ending format was changed to A001-Z999. That way there
       would be no possibility of two units with the same serial
       number.
       At the same time, they added a 1,2 or 3 for the first digit to
       identify the plant. (Nashville, Howard, or Dequeen)
       H 1990 144th day
       Nashville

       Saving so I can keep learning. They throw curve balls over the
       years when they change.
       1 = Nashville, Arkansas plant.
       J = year, which is 92.
       326 is the Julian date November 22.
       The remainder is a sequential serial number.
