From the 241 pics and playing with a 251 I find the handles
closer together than I like. Will it stop me from buying a 241?
       No.

The only thing I see that i don't care for is the throttle rod.
Looks to be similar to the 362, have seen with time they where
out and if you flip the saw over it will fall out of the holder
on the side of the intake manifold and you will lose throttle
operation other than that looks like a good saw. Are the handles
more compact than a 261. If they are it will make a great saw
for the arborist guys out there. That's one reason I have a 346
and a 2152 for there compact size and power. Would like to have
a stihl again as my climbing saw for the 250 just does come
close to the 346, hope this will help bridge the gap between the
250 and 261 for power and compact size.

The 241 is shorter than the 261 for sure. I will measure some
       saws.

2 years ago at A trade show I asked the stihl reps about a saw
like the 346 and they said something about the 241 then and it
has peak my interest since then

Thanks for that OIL, I do have a mini 7 spline 8T Picco rim
sprocket which I ordered from a 026 IPL I have. The IPL has
about 4 different rims listed just didn't clearly say the one 7T
3/8" rim was a Picco or not.
I'm really interested in having this 241 with 14"b/c in my Husky
stable outfitted with the 63PS chain.
So is there a part # for a Picco 7T rim and drum kit for the
       241?

I was able to get from the Stihl dealer a Stihl small hub
regular (not pico) 3/8 X 7 rim for my 026 PRO so I know the
regular 3/8" exists in the Sthil mini hub exists.
I was looking on the Stihl 026 IPL and the 3/8" X 7 Pico Stihl
small hub rim is 0000 642 1240 as shown in the quote.
On my list the Pico's are labeled as such.
I didn't see any spur sprockets for 3/8 Pico though
You can also get 8 pin 3/8 Pico rims from the same IPL
You can also get .325 X 7 pin and 8 pin Stihl small mini hub
       rims from that IPL

3/8 rim kit does not state picco 1143 007 1002
       .325 7 1143 007 1003
       .325 8 1143 007 1004
Front handle is 1" farther back than 261 handle.
