Gas oil vs premix?
By: stogies4life Date: September 26, 2021, 10:01 am

I don't use my saw a whole lot (2-3 times a year) and I'm
wondering whether I would be better off buying a gallon gas tank
and oil to mix or to stick with cans of premix. If you were me
what would you do?

If you can get a hold of non ethanol fuel from the pump then I
would mix my own fuel, but if all there is available is ethanol
fuel then I would buy the can fuel that uses non ethanol. I
think the non ethanol will last longer and you do not have to
worry about water being attracted to the fuel because of the
ethanol. Water is very destructive to the carburetors on all
these small engines.

Get E-free if you can. I mix 5 gal at a time and use in boat
and gen only too.
Dont leave ethanol gas set very long. 90 days put in a mower and
use up. It draws in water and goes bad fast.
E-free here is only a buck more a gallon. Here a e-free pump
has a RED handle.
If you cant get that. VPracing makes a a good premix.
Then there is the high priced stuff like Aspen. Stihl premix
uses that stuff in theirs and why so high.
Can search near you for e-free gas on this website.

Thanks 3000 and Cuts4fun for the advice. Scrolled the list for
e-free and damned if the last one listed is 10 minutes from me!
Thanks again,
s4l
