I know this topic is a year old, but I have a customer who has 2
of these saws in John Deere green. Comically ironic that those 2
tractor companies wound up sourcing saws from the same
manufacturer, isn't it? He had them in for a basic service, new
chains. But I get what you mean about these orphan saws being a
hard sell outside of us guys in the hobby world. Owners would
have to be somewhat self sufficient in supporting these saws,
and let's face it, not many are. I wouldn't even take them in,
but I know the guy and his family, so for the basic stuff, no
big deal to keep them going. But ya know it's only a matter of
time until he needs a part that I can't get. Not something any
of us in the hobby/dealer world even think about, cause it's so
easy to grab another saw. But in this guy's case, he's got 2 of
them, and nothing else. Honestly, I wouldn't want to do too many
of these things, but I get a kick out of keeping these two saws
in service.
