       Husqvarna Roller File Guide Question
By: John Mc Date: July 19, 2021, 1:17 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I'm trying to set up a friend with what they need to hand
sharpen their chains. They are NOT likely to do it enough to
become proficient at free-hand filing. They've tried a few
styles of guides and would like to settle on the roller file
guide. They are using a standard .325 pitch chain (not the
narrow kerf ".325 Pixel chain"). I see that Husqvarna sells
three styles of .325 roller file guides: one for the pixel, one
for their Xcut chain, and one for their H21 style chain. They
are using Oregon 21LPX chain. If I recall correctly, that's the
same as the Husqvarna H21 (.325 Pitch, .058 gauge). If so this
should use Husky part # 505 69 81-94. Does that seem right?
Is it also true that you have to use a different file guide for
their .325 pitch "XCUT" chain? This is going to get to be a pain
if every variation within a chain pitch needs their own guide.
