Here is the serial number blown up on chainsaw repair group by a
member for me. 8)
Serial Numbers
„
The 1 at the beginning of the serial number indicates the unit
was
manufactured in Germany
„
A 2 and 5 would indicate the unit was manufactured in the United
States
„
A 3 represents Brazil
„
An 8 represents China

He got the 460 and 660 manual in box. 460 shown in first pic.
Here is 660. = Yeah, I do have a 660 manual as well. All
Portuguese though, unfortunately.

Owner said this when he was checking for a saw. = It is made in
Brazil. It has “made in Brazil” on the side cover. Brazil still
makes saws that are not sold in the US anymore. They had the
MS460, MS361, MS260, and MS382, all made in Brazil, all brand
new in the box. The 038 (ms381 also) was always made in Brazil
as I understand it. The Husqvarna dealer had some made in Brazil
saws too, like the 395 and 288. The “3” in the first digit of
the serial number indicates made in Brazil.

There is a guy in the chainsaw repair group that ships saws over
and here too. Dont think he used him. This guy is selling this
saw now for $1200. Want me to ask him who he used?
In the thread on the CRG on it. Folks said their NE dealers
stihl had a 660 or 2 on the shelves too.
