Added a Homelite 750 to the pile

Snagged this one off Ebay for $200 shipped but the cylinder is
going to have to be replaced or rebuild, I have already
contacted US Chrome and have everything lined up if I can not
find a replacement. Good news is the piston looks great and it
       is in G-VG shape cosmetically.

US Chrome is about the only one I know doing blind cylinders.
Any idea what the cost is? I only know the prices for Millennium
       and race cylinders.

I have been in contact with Scott Reath at US Chrome and the
price is $198 plus shipping. They can only do closed port
cylinders, Scott says their expanding diamond hone will be
trashed by open ports. They require you to send the cylinder,
piston, your specs on piston to cylinder clearance and they want
you to strip all the accessories off any parts you send.
I have worked out a deal on a running 750 with a 42" roller nose
bar and .404 chain, so this one may get pushed to the back
       burner for a while.

You really can't tell much by a picture .The piston doesn't
appear that bad .Is the cylinder down through the chrome ?

Piston is in good condition, in person you can actually still
see the machining marks. I do believe the chrome is worn through
and there is some faint pitting right above the intake port, I
will know more once I take a little sandpaper to the cylinder
walls Monday. I also have two sets of the 85608 McCulloch rings
on the way but I don't really want to gap them until I know
exactly what I am going to do with the cylinder, these are
slightly larger than oem at 2.280".

As a suggestion try some 3m green abrasive with kerosine rather
than sand paper .It's not apt to eat through the chrome like
       sandpaper

Found a second 750 today via my Craigslist wanted ad. This one
may not be as pretty to look at but it has great compression, no
cracks/breaks that I have found, a solid muffler and I believe
the bar/chain is around 30" though I have not put a tape on it.

As you can see from the last picture the paint is fairly nice
       under all that crud.
