Got this stihl fs80 bicycle handle bar trimmer when I was down
south. Needs carb and on order.
Also came with a new metal brush cutting blade. Dont know if I
will keep it yet or not.

I believe the FS80 used a solid steel shaft instead of the
flexible spring steel type shaft. It also has a gear head on
it to get the angle instead of the bent shaft trimmers. The
gear head should be packed with grease and that is something
that you can check.
If I remember correctly the trimmer head is a left hand thread
and there is a place that you can stick a allen wrench into it
that will keep the head from rotating so that you can unscrew
it. They can get pretty tight.

Fs-75 & 80 are cable drive. Fs-85 is shaft driven. Same
powerhead on all 3. The 75 is bent shaft.

The stihl dealer techs told me to check. Because they have seen
the 80 with cable and solid.
Just got the carb in but in no hurry. 17 out and snowing.

Old carb just had a L and looked like a brass gov on side. I
ordered a new aftermarket with H and L. New echo lines and
running like a new one.

Was putting the metal brush cutting blade on this yesterday and
ended up having to order the blade adapter kit. $10
The stihl blade that came with this uses 7/32 round file to
sharpen.

Saving // JM = 4117 710 8200 is the stihl part number, they
call it a limit stop. It is a solid aluminum guard.

Parts came in yesterday and installed the blade. Holy heck I
dont lived without one of these so long.
Cutting briars and small trumpet vine was like cutting butter
with a laser.
