JFYI Yesterday I was taking clutch off echo 6700 which uses 3
prong. I was able to take a poulan with only 2 prong and off set
it and remove clutch needing 3 prongs.
So now that is 2 more clutch tools I want. ;D

In looking at that tool it might be such a thing as a more
"universal " type might be possible to make by threading a
series of hole around the circumferance and using grade 8 cap
screws .
The problem with the 166 Dolmar was the fact it went into square
holes which of course was over come by the adaptations from the
screwdriver shaft .Whatever is used for the "prongs " has to be
some tough steel .

I wonder how close this older style echo 3 pin clutch removal
tool is to fitting your 550 clutch.

It looks very close. The distance between pins on mine is 1.035"
The pins are .34" in diameter.

I just make them as I need them from a old socket or buy a cheap
socket the right diameter.

Thats how I started out making out of old sockets. But I kept
breaking the tabs off on poulan ones on stubborn clutches. So I
gave in and bought cheap oem priced ones.
