Partner 5000 service manual

I am new to your forum and I just want to say Hi and thanks for
letting me join in. I was chasing down a repair /service manual
for my saws I own 3 of the 5000 plus's. In chasing down this
info I was led to a post on this site where a person had shown
someone a picture of his service manual. Then I joined this
site so I could ask him if he knew how I could find one as well.
While waiting for the approval to join in here, I posted the
question on another forum "Tractorbynet." I got a responce from
the person that also belongs to this site as well. As we speak I
am in the process of buying one a "soft cover edition" from
e-bay. I just hope it will have the same info as the one
pictured in "cut4fun's" post. Well thanks again and have a Merry
Christmas.

The link I posted for you is the one I have now. Same work shop
service manual. The Pioneer / Partner and Partner manuals are
the same.
Merry Christmas too and got to love those 5000's . I think
there was 1 woods ported 5000, 1 stock 5000, 1 parts saw 5000
and a 490 for sale here too. Check for sale area.

never bought anything on e-bay but he does all the time so I
asked him to get it for me.So as we speak it is on it's way to
St Albans Me . I have never seen a service manual is this what a
shop / dealer would use?Does it give soloutions to problems like
poor idle or staling ect?

Yes and that is where I learned the trick of holding the topend
still through the crankcase with a hex wrench years ago. Didnt
have to use a piston stop or rope trick through the sparkplug
hole anymore.

I will have to look for that trick i guess i just did the rope
trick to take off a clutch to clean the crap from behind.Rewired
a couple of the saws switchs and replaced an anti vibe starp on
one of them I will be ready for the woods tomorrow.

Well I got my Partner 5000 / 500 service manual my nephew bought
it for me from e-bay.
In the mean time I have accidently run over one of my 5000's I
destroyed the "D" handel ,chain brake cover and recoil cover. I
had enough spare parts to rebuild most of it but I will need a
chain brake cover.Does anyone have a chain brake cover they
would part with? Actuall I would take 2 if I could get them/ you
never know.
I have searched and joined 2 other sites but still no luck
finding parts.I have joined Chainsaw repair.I will begin looking
at old saw shops in my area in Central Maine to see if any are
lying about. If anyone knows a good place to look let me know and
I will check it out. This was pasted by me from the
Tractorbynet forum when it was pointed out to me that I had not
made this request here.Thanks Jeff
