Baumr-AG 92 Chainsaw cover modification

Hey,
I've just purchased a Baumr-AG 92cc and for a Chinese saw I can
say that I am very happy. She's a little on the thirsty side
however for someone who cuts 7-10 tonne of wood a year it
certainly does the job. The link below will show you a MAJOR
fault in the design system. The air filter is in the worst
possible location and I wanted to know if anyone had any success
in doing something similar? What has happened to others in the
past is that the air intake is covered by a very cheap Chinese
filter and eventually saw dust gets sucked up into the
carburetor and into the crankcase (you can imagine it does
wonders in there). So ideally easy access will mean that I can
easily clean it without procrastination creeping in. What I
wanted to do was cut the plastic cover and create a hinged door,
any help is greatly appreciated!

Strange saw, with reeds even. From other pictures it looks to
have 1/2 of an A/V system.
As for the filter, on one hand there is a lot of stuff trapped
on the filter, so you could almost say it was doing its job.
Perhaps with a bit of flashing clean up and some sealant between
the halves (like I've done on other Chinese saw filters), and
maybe some gasketing to the carb. But not being able to get to
it is a major issue, especially since it seems to have no
effective pre-filtration system.
