HELP! Eager Beaver Body Repair
By: aleksgavri Date: July 26, 2016, 7:26 pm

Hey all,
I've been reconditioning and repairing chainsaws for the past
two years and I really enjoy seeing them kick off again, but I
am inexperienced and I have no idea what to do in this
situation. I inherited this chainsaw from a friend and they have
made a dogs breakfast out of it. It's an old McCulloch - Eager
Beaver and had a cracked piston ring. When they tried to remove
the bolt the head snapped, and this is where it gets good, they
drilled the blazes out of it! Now there is a gaping hole and I
need to fill it in somehow (welding etc.)? Now what do I do? Any
help is greatly appreciated, I'd love to get this baby going
again! :D

honestly I wouldn't bother would cost you way more than you
would get out of it. But if you really want to get it going best
option would be pick up a parts saw and make one out of the
two.

That's fair enough, I have found one that I can use for parts
which is good. Although I hate admitting defeat and I want to at
least try so I can learn something. I've heard you can use
aluminium brazing? However it depends on the steel so I may need
to find someone with a mig welder? Anyone have any suggestions?
