       Stihl 180 c be

Stihl 180 can the regular clutch cover be used to replace the
       tool less covers?
Took a like new stihl 180c with case and extra chain on trade.
Didnt really need or want but helping out a younger guy from
       work. Know how it is.
Plus I was thinking of my dad with the easy start deal. Even
though I dont like that tool less tensioner deal.

I gave $130 for it with new case on trade. Might just give to
dad for a Christmas gift with the easy start. Then show him how
it works so he dont start like normal by yanking.

IMO best easy start system out there is on stihl. I had one here
on a 250. Me and Jim checked it out and they are just plain
slick for older or people with shoulder and or hand injures or
       problems.
You can pull rope 1" at a time till it winds it up then it takes
off on its own if need be.

If dad dont end up with it. 180 or 3900 will get sold. Heck
might use for myself as I get older. ;D
As it came in. The guy said they had 200 trees to work on and
the 180 wasnt getting it done. :D His buddy was using a PP330
I had sold him yeas ago.

So does a normal clutch cover work on these?
Does any bigger saws fit this dang stihl woodsman case?

Pretty sure I will be cleaning this up and giving to dad for
       Christmas.
Just in case he didnt want the case I wanted to know what else
it fits. As I know he feels about cases the way I do. Heck the
poulan 2000 original case is still here for that saw I gave him
to use as he dont do cases.
Stihl Woodsman Chainsaw Carrying Case Fits MS 170 to MS 460
with 20” bar. (Excludes MS 441 and wrap-handle saws.)
Replacement parts available. This was good to know and found on
       stihl website.
Now this part is just stupid. Distributor Suggested Retail Price
DSRP: $49.95 Really. Free maybe with saw.

So still need clutch cover swap info if it will work or not.
Tensioner deal may be deal breaker too.

Will the 170 180 saws have enough balls to pull the PS PS3
       chains?

The 180 and 180C have different crankcase part #'s
However, this could be because the studs are different?
You will need two bar studs for a 180
The complete tensioner assembly which is the same as the 250?
And the chain cover which is also the same as a 250?
       Two bar nuts

       PS3 is in the catalog for a 180 with a 12, 14, & 16 .050 bar,
but the bar that came on some 180's was only .043 gauge.
That would be neat to have a 180 with a 14" Bar and a 50DL PS
       chain.
