       echo 450p
       By: ch74 Date: September 23, 2015, 10:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I created this post for two reasons. First one is this site is
cool , calm and full of knowledge. Second, I have a 450p and
       would
Like to switch it over to 3/8 LP. Was wondering if anyone could
help me with sproket, 20" bar, part numbers. I feel this combo
would benefit this saw more. Any help would be appreciated...

I did the switch on a CS4400 and it way better with the 3/8 lp
6 tooth driver, I tried a 7 tooth driver first which cut about
the same as the .325 chain. A sprocket off a CS400 fit on the
CS4400 but I had to machine (grind) a little off the end. I did
some timed cuts between my CS400 and a CS450 (with the .325
chain) and they were about dead even. With the 3/8 6 tooth lp on
the CS450 it should cut quite a bit faster than a CS400. If you
find a 6 tooth sprocket that fits right on let us know. Steve

Ok , i was thinking that finding a sproket will be the easier
part of all this, Bar in 20'' 3/8 lp will be a bit harder , i
was thinking of using my .325 pitch bar cause its a .50gauge and
that is the LP i am going to be using , so i could probably
moddify the nose sprocket of that bar to run the 3/8 lp i got
that bar on sale anyway from baileys...lol.. So the sprocket
from a cs400 will fit huh?

       Your saw?
  HTML http://www.ereplacementparts.com/echo-cs450-45cc-chain-saw-parts-c-35043_35970_160062.html
You have small or standard rim? I just put a 3/8 7T on a saw.
Works fine. See if your 45cc can pull the 3/8LP with 7T.
I dont know anything about cross referencing this saw.

It pulls the .325 with authority, i have done a MM and tuned the
carbed on it, it rips. And to be honest i dont no if it is a
standard sprocket how can i tell i know they make a conversion
for it to go 3/8 full so im assuming that 3/8 full sprocket
would work on a LP size chain, cause there both 3/8's. I
honestly think i can mod the sprocket tip on that bar, How long
is that orange bar u have the LP on in the pics on the
treehouse? If i can mod the sprocket nose on my bar would u make
me a loop of 3/8 lp i would pay of coarse. ;D

This is small 3/8 7T and a 3/8LP chain. I would bet yours is
       small hub too.

Yea i think it is..small hub...i was looking at the cs400 clutch
drum its a 6t but i would have to see if it would fit on my saw
and the only way i see that is to buy it and try/mod to see if
       it would take. ugh..grr...lol

Ok i think the sprocket i can do . What do u think about the
20'' bar the bar i have is .50 gauge but so is the 3/8 lp i
wanna run, Do you think it is possible to mod the nose sprocket?

After you find the right sprocket I'd just buy a CS400 bar with
the 3/8 lp, I think if you go with the 3/8 lp 6 tooth your going
to be stuck with a spur sprocket, no rim sprocket with 6 tooth
       and I wouldn't bother changing from .325 7 tooth to a 7 tooth
3/8 lp as they cut about the same. Steve
