       You might could tell the "lead" of the threads by looking at the
       end of the nut. Maybe the nut is blind with no hole on the
       outside?

       It is a Nylex Nut that is perfectly flush with crank.

       I have a John Deere 30 weed whacker (Homelite). I bought it as a
       short block and added the pieces to make it a model airplane
       engine. There's nothing green on it.
