Red Neck Filing Guide

I came across this picture on the Internet. It forces you to
maintain a level 30 degree top plate angle.
For cutter length considerations you could just use your
Crescent wrench jaws as a gauge to compare cutter lengths?
It requires the proper Oregon or Stihl file plate guide and file
for your size chain . . .
And a 2 X 4 with a dado on one edge wide enough to go over your
chain and two 30 degree dado cuts wide enough for the file
plate.
The picture is almost full page if you enlarge it.

Guy that was here yesterday could use that.
I was showing him his chains and ask how he did this. He smiles
and says well I like to drink when I am cutting. Then by time
for touch up on chain while cutting he is not seeing all to
well. :)

I do a lot of drunkin filing. That's my favorite Saturday night
pastime. Drinking my beers, listening to Johny Cash radio on
Pandora and filing chains for customers. (I have no life) haha

Some people cannot relax and calm down until they are on the 2nd
six pack?

Just ran across this post. I like the simplicity of that idea.
STIHL does sell something similar, and a bit more compact:
