Have heard many people say put them in dry. Walbro says to use
nail polish. Think I read some where you can use 242 thread
locker? Guess it is half one way half the other way. Looking to
see what you guys use or don't use?

Clear nail polish. Seems to be pretty fuel proof

Just keep on looking for where I read about using 242 and I
found in the Stihl carb workshop manual. Trying to find
something I already had in the shop. My wife doesn't paint her
nails any more so no nail polish. Would almost think you don't
need anything seems a tight fit.

I'm just posting this info from a stihl dealer on my FB Chainsaw
Repair group.
copy and paste usable or not.
In many cases it's the melted welch plug sealant that causes the
problem. The latest carbs have stainless welch plugs that don't
need sealer.
On the issue of whether to rebuild a carb. The newest carbs have
ethanol resistant components that older carbs didn't. Like
stainless steel jets and welch plugs. If the new carb is only 20
to 50 dollars it is a dir servive not to change it to a more
serviceable component.

That maybe true about ethanol resistant components but the
metering diaphragm and pump diaphragm will still become fatigued
over time. If the carb is 20 or 30 i can see buying a carb but
most carbs are not that cheap.
