I dont do baileys as they have pizzed on my shoes one to many
times in the past.

I have one probably forty years old but haven't used it for so
long I have likely forgotten how. At the time I was more into
cars. On two stroke I rely more on a visual through the exhaust
port, if I get back into 4 stroke (unlikely but possible) I'll
make a leakdown tester.

I read somewhere that a standard auto compression tester was no
good for small engines. It was news to me as I've been using
the same unit for at least 30 years without anything seeming to
be out of whack.
Maybe there is some small difference. But, it can't be enough
to make a difference I wouldn't think.
