Titan 70 rebuild by a noob!
By: RockingDad Date: August 19, 2011, 3:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       hi Everyone,
After my adventures learning about chainsaws with the little
powermac 310 rebuild (my first chainsaw and first 2 stroke
engine) I was at an auction today and rather than buy the newer
looking working saw (where is the fun in that!), I bid on and
won a Mcculloch Titan 70. Looks like it's got some meat to it
and it's a heavy saw. It has a 20" bar on it but the engine will
not turn on the starter... it is solid. On a first look it seems
someone has had the head off as there are two bolts missing and
another is slightly undone there also is what looks like a hose
union coming from the back of the head... what is that for there
doesn't seem to be hose adrift.
There is a red button on the top of the head... whats it's
       purpose?
I'll start stripping tomorrow and get some pics up but can those
in the know advise what would be terminal signs for the saw.
I'll put some penetrating oil into the chamber and see how I go
but any other tips for freeing the saw?
Any other info on this saw would be appreciated.
       Many thanks
       RockingDad

If you go down about 4 threads in this sub section that ones
mine .As far as the saw ,the one I own is the only one I've ever
seen because they are rare .

I have one as well but putting the chain brake together i havent
tried yet and would love some pics to get it right if you could
provide them. My titan 70 is all nos parts going together. If
you ever wnt to sell yours let me know, id like to have one
       runner one parts saw.
