The very low use IMO, MS290 hadnt been used for 2 years too.
Dumped old mix and all looks good after checking things. All
still like new.
Original owners son will be very happy to get his dads saws
again. Glad a friend referred me to him.

I just finished up a MS 290 not to long ago that had the nipple
broke off for the oiler. I bought a used crankcase on ebay
and transferred everything over from the old crankcase to the
new used one. I thought about trying to press a piece of
brass in but did not. Not a bad idea though.

What a cluster [emoji12]
Guy loaned stihl 039 out to one of his workers. Looked like
been trenching.
Fixed the broken recoil and removed the boot lace used to try
and fix part of that and broken handle.
Replaced a missing old school tank vent. Made it up.
Then it will just back fire. Soooooooo
Sheared fly key. Issue is the fly nut will loosen part way and
then just spin. Never had to figure that one out. Can’t figure
out out to remove the spinning stripped out fly nut. Ideas?
Can tight back but need to line fly up for timing.
Got alot of ideas to try on CRG last night.

Cutting and chisel worked. Also learned the little plastic
poulans use same flywheel threads and nut worked. Since fly
sheared key off lined back up and pray.
Now if it holds. I cleaned both sides and was scared to go to
tight. So hand tighten as good as I could just using 1/4”
ratchet. Using orange loctite.
Crank thread were fubarred. Nut threads was gone. Just enough
threads to tighten at lower area.
Thanks for the ideas yesterday. 😎👍
