The non adjustable carb. I think it runs on the lean side now so
i dont even want to take the spark screen out yet. That little
bugger does impress me with the power it has. An adjustable carb
will make it a keeper. ;)
I peeked at it this morning very quickly. The 025 has H and L on
cover with 2 holes going back to carb. Cant tell if one is
blocked off or not.

MOS this 025 has a H and L carb. After looking at the muffler on
it, all I could see doing was opening the 3 exhaust outlets up.
Otherwise it looked fine and was already louder then the stock
MS390 muffler :D . Re-tuned the L H and idle and she runs
great.
The 390 picked up a 1000 rpm after muffler mod without adjusting
carb. Re-tuned L H idle and she runs good for what it is.
Sorry it was just to dang hot for making video's of before and
after.
Looks like this. White spots are added in.

Just showing outer deflector opened up.
The muffler itself was opened up big time compared to stock 2
slits it used to breath out of.
Also when was the de-comp put on the 390?
This one didnt have one and was a complaint of the owner. The
new d ring took care of that with a carb tune.

I can't recall ever seeing an actual 390, 039 yes .It didn't
seem to have such excessive compression to even need a decomp .
I think though it seems that many manufactures are using decomps
more so than was standard practice from previous years .
My guess is they are using cheaper plastic starter
parts.

So is this a common problem with these tensioner models? Breaks
right where they bend them.

No, not common at all.
They usually fail when the owner keeps trying to adjust the bar
without loosening the bar nuts first.....

He just described he was cutting and chain jumped off. Went to
put chain back on and wouldnt hold adjustment.
This is what I found.
Seems they sell alot of them online is why I ask if common.
