Partner 500 Oil Vent

Hey nice site you got going here Cut4fun, it's nice that all the
various makes are categorized. It's so easy to find things.
Just wondering where the oil vent is on the 500. I picked up
the saw the other week, she runs good but seems a little weak
on the bar oiling. I had take the oiler apart and everything
seems to be in good shape and I assume I have it set for the
maximum deliver rate.

Here is the thread on the 500 5000 oil pump. If you can read it
it has something on location of air vent and location. I have
never had to mess with that part.
link to thread with SM.

Usually the ones I have had just get weak flow from wearing out
and a new or good used replacement fixed my oiling problems.
I have came across 3 different ones now. 2 adjustable with
coarse and fine threads and non adjustable.
What color is your plastic parts and the pump oiler gear inside
oiler. White or black?

Thanks I had seen that photo of your book earlier but didn't
notice the cotter pin vent until I re-read it. All seems well
with mine. Is maximum flow when the slot in the end of the
adjuster is horizontal? That seems to when the little holes in
the oiler tube are lined up for best flow. My parts are black.
How is the oiler gear, that seems to be pressed on the crank
shaft, removed without special tools? Looks to be a pain if the
flywheel side crank seal ever needs to be replaced.
While on the topic of venting do you have any photos of the
proper routing for the fuel vent line?
thanks

Have you pulled the black rubber part that goes into oil tank
and cleaned the filter on the end of it. Used needle nose to
pull out of case. Filter just clips on and off.
I will go check position on turning high to low in a second.
Right now my mind is blank.

The highest setting would be the adjustment screw in the mid
position. (The screw head in the horizontal position.)

Yes I had pulled out the black rubber line that goes ino the
tank and removed the screen and made sure everything was clean.
I won't get a chance to use it for a while but maybe it will
start to oil better if I run it longer. I had only run it for
a few minutes.
thanks for your help guys!

One I had replaced in a guys saw after massive cleaning and got
it to flow bar oil, but still not enough, had fine scratches on
the 2 metal pieces where they rotate inside. The one I put in
it had nothing on those pieces.

Finally got around to trying out the oiler again. Checked it
without a bar and noticed that it oils the most when the
adjuster is turnedcounter clockwise.
I had just cut a cookie and had brought the saw back towards my
body when the next thing I know it suddenly stopped and the
recoil side slammed against my leg. It sure startled me and I
found that my track pants were sucked up through the large hole
that was on the bottom of the recoil side. I had to hobble back
up to the house with a saw smack against my leg. Luckily none
of the neighbours were out to witness my strange walk.
After getting the recoil cover off I found the pants were
wrapped around the flywheel and a large hole in my pants.

I epoxied some wire mess across the hole in the recoil cover
and will paint it black
