More digging, below is from stihl and a stihl dealer.
STIHL Inc. is proud to announce an additional saw chain for the
professional arborist in a full-chisel cutter style. The 3/8"
STIHL PICCO Super 3 is especially designed for use on the MS
200/201 and MS 200T/201T.
Users will benefit from these key product features:
15% more cutting performance than the STIHL 63 PMC and 33% more
cutting performance than the Oregon 91VG
5% less feed force than STIHL 63 PMC and 26% less feed force
than the Oregon 91VG
Low vibration
Smoother running
Chain does indeed have a safety hump near the raker. What he
overlooked is the square chisel cutter and more importantly how
the safety hump is designed. Look closely at it and you will
notice its kinda long and it sets well below the cutter along
the bar. In fact it sets at the cut off line on the raker
meaning its plenty low. At the nose when the chain goes around
that long pointed design pokes out and does it job to prevent
kickback. Other than that the safety hump on that chain does
nothing but go along for the ride. That chain will cut like
crazy and have less kickback too boot.
Well they claimed at the meeting it was a long time coming but
they finally have the chain the guys wanted mainly for the 200T.
By looking at it I think its right nifty. I sell alot of plain
63PM chain for my 200T users. They too have always wanted a
square chisel cutter so this may be right up their alley. The
63PM has no safety hump but its got a rounded corner cutter.
That square chisel cutter should be abit quicker in the cut.
I'll know in a few days

Al this is what we needed for the 0-40cc small saw racing in
8x8. Can you say square filed PS.
Bet it would smoke the VX semi chisel and VXL I was using.

As I said other places ,back in the day Oregon made 1/4" in full
comp and skip round chisel .Would that stuff cut ,my my .
Ralph Nader was instrumental in eliminating chisel on small
chains .His reasoning was that small saws were basically
designed for occasional users .He feared chisel chain would lead
to more injurys .
Actually I don't believe locally a person can even find 3/8" Lo
pro in any configuration other than guard chain not even at the
Stihl dealers .That I have came from Baileys .Plus a loop of non
gaurd Stihl that was sent to me .
The type of ramped chain as shown in the pic is a better cutter
than the long type guard chain ,I'll have to say that . I really
have no idea if in the tree biz they do much bore cutting with a
trim saw anyway so I'd speculate the ramps would have little
effect on how it cut .

Anyone have a fresh loop of 63PM or 63PMC that I can use for a
test to compare cutting times with a 35cc and the PS3 in aspen
8x8. Also have some oregon, windsor, carlton to try (I think
still.)
Would 45dl or 56dl 3/8LP 050.

I never got a loop of PM or PMC and I had some time to kill
today to test some chains. year or 2 year ols dry 8x8 aspen
cant.
I just remembered where my loop of Oregon VXL is. On my Solo 637
, so I need to go run that loop here in a bit.
After this I am sold on Stihl PS3 and hopefully PS or PSC
someday in the future.
Oregon 91 safety 10.96 and 10.90
Oregon 91 full skip spun when hit wood 11.09 and 10.65
Carlton N1 9.28 and 9.06
Stihl 63PS3 7.31 and 7.56
Windsor 50R 10.34 and 9.93
Will be right back with VXL times. ::)
Oregon VXL 10.03 and 9.41

Like I said I have never used PM or PMC smi chisel chain, but
this PS3 round chisel is the fastest smoothest low profile chain
I have used to date. Hope they come out with a PS or PSC now
too.
The PS3 reminds me of big brother RS RSC chain in the cut. Nice
chips and smooth cut.
Appears to be roughly 20% - 25% faster in my comparisons dont
it? I havent run the math yet.

Still havent found a 45dl or 56dl PMC or PM. What is the
difference in PM1 and the PM and PMC? I found a 45dl of PM1 to
buy and try in the same cant. Even though I really dont think
it will come close to the PS3 8)

PM1 isn't made anymore it was the triple hump style of reduced
kickback chain the .325 and 3/8 version was called RM2.
PMC3 is semi chisel, reduced kick back green label chain
PM is semi chisel, yellow label chain it's the same cutter shape
as the RM .325, and 3/8 chain

I did learn something from this. The carlton n1 chain was 55 dl
and it wouldnt work, So I broke down a oregon 91 for a drive
link and reused it in the carlton chain and it worked perfect to
make a 56dl chain.
Now earlier in the year I tried doing this with a stihl 325
chain with oregon presets since I only had them left. This did
not work do to the oregon having bigger rivet or stihl having
smaller holes. Locked chain at those connections.
