       ATOP Square Filing Guide
By: Chainsawrepair Date: February 26, 2011, 11:10 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Talking with Goran in emails and he might be interested in
coming over here in a sub-forum to help you guys out and answer
       questions.
There has been some pretty quick chains I have seen come off the
ATOP square guide for softwoods and good square work chains.
This was done by another friend I know that bought one to try
       out.
He is using a different file then what comes supplied and likes
       the results he is getting.
Weird thing is we both use it different when watching each other
file with the guide and get different angles. So it comes down
       to the user input too.

I wanted to try one of them out. I got a silvey swing arm now so
I don't really need one. I still would like to try one out. It
might be a good thing for someone who doesn't want to spend a
       chunk on a grinder.

Tried one and did not get good results. No doubt that over time
I could make a chain work. Slow chains stay home.

Just some video's of past ATOP chains.
Using a stock Dolmar 7900 with 8T, testing out the new ATOP hand
filed square work chain from Goran of Sweden.
       10"x10" very firm dry poplar.

Art something I noticed on the one the guy brought to the house.
They are coming with 1 set of rollers and they are a different
size then I used. Mine came with 3 sets of rollers straight from
       Sweden.
While sandusky was here we took a stock CL chain and then used
his square atop filed chain and he was knocking off 3 tenths on
his chain in softwood cuts. We didnt write anything down so I
cant get any deeper with info.
I do know he uses a different file and holds the file on the
guide different then I do. So it seems a lot of factors come
into play, just like user input on hand filing.
