Thanks, again! So very interesting saw! I had a chance to buy
that saw but, I knew nothing about it! Do you know what a fair
       market value would be?

others want to pay for this saw,and were you live counts and
where the saw is(sending) also in the value indicating ;)

Thanks! Can I ask something? Why is chainsaws- especially older
ones-the prices- so secretive? So what about rifles, quads,
scopes, bars & chain, cars, & the list can go on & on ! So I
guess I am supposed to go pay $500.00 for this? I have asked
this same question so tender- footedly here- now I will probably
be shun or ban... I guess I spend $500. & go on! Its just a
question, not a family or national secret... Thanks!

       Lets say i won't pay $500,= for it ;)
if the saw is in the US its hard to get so high prized, if you
live in Sweden lot of them so low prize ;D

Only spend what you can afford to . Get onto ebay search past
items sold in the saw you are after and get yourself a price
guide. How I do it is anything that interests me goes into
watch list After the sale I have a record for m,yself and a
guide to what to pay at markets garage sales etc. I rarely buy
a saw on ebay as I just don't have the cash I got burnt on my
last couple of deals so now its garage sales and WOM (word of
mouth). I never spend any of my pay on saws They have to be self
funding ,eg see something unique at a sale (not necessarily a
saw antique tools old motor motorcycle bits) garab it and you
may have trading material My favourite is offering to save them
a trip to the dump or
when you see an old saw in a shed barn wherever ask whats gonna
happen to that often its don't know can you use it or you can
have it for a tenner etc. I know iit's not the full answer you
came looking for But I think we all or most have the same
question when it comes to spending which is what's it worth I
know I do and my ebay watch list and previous sales is my only
       tool for value
and as the previous poster Dutch says it depends where you are
here in oz I can pay 120 to 150 for a poulan 2050 and in the
states 50 bucks gets me a good runner. Just don't get carried
away there is always another saw coming along soon
