California gas contains up to 5.7% Ethanol. I've never seen any
signs of this fuel damaging fuel lines, carb diaphragms, etc.
What percentage are you guys talking about?? Adam

Adam here says 10% on pumps but when checked years ago seen
closer to 15%.
I no longer check being I still use Klotz Original TechniPlate
Synthetic, being the tech told me it will stay mixed with
ethanol.

This has probably already been said somewhere here......

It is only as accurate as those that post the stations in your
state. I found Arkansas to be very accurate.

MS 98L That looks great. I'll check that out. I've been
looking at this Sunoco Race Fuel. It's around $60 USD for five
gallons but stores for up to 2 years without having to add any
kind of treatment.

Iv'e ran the 40-Fuel TrueFuel version. Other than price, no
complaints. Mostly I used it as a 'flush' and long term storage
fuel when I was running eth laced pump gas.

I ran true fuel also at one time but I have found a station here
that carries 91 octane and 0 percent ethanol and I mix it 32 to
1. Even when I ran the true fuel I added more oil. My saws
always ran fine on it.

I know in some areas of the USA the gasoline is just terrible
from a storage standpoint especially if mixed with two cycle
mix.
So far in this part of the country since they went to 10%
ethanol (or sometimes more?) I have not had any problems other
than stiff metering valve diaphragms. The mix sets in the saws
until the next time I use them. Seems as though if it's only two
or three years it is still OK. But I know for a fact that if it
goes 10 years, then the color goes dark and I consider it bad.
Neighbor across the high way brought over his Husqvarna 435 that
looked unused that he couldn't get started. The gas mix was
black! I didn't think a 435 was that old? So perhaps the mix was
very old when he poured it in the 435? I dumped it in my gravel
driveway and used new gas. It ran fine after resetting the
needle valves.
But I remember years ago what looked like mud in the float bowls
of carbs. Don't see that anymore around here.
In 1974 there was a big gas crisis around here so where I
worked, they put in a couple 500,000 gallon #2 fuel oil tanks
and four 30,0000 gal propane tanks for alternate fuel storage.
Five years later they sold all that fuel and I remember the fuel
oil being black and only 5 years old. A local fuel oil
distributor bought it all. I doubt he ran it trough any
microbial filters before selling it retail? The propane was
hauled away but I couldn't see what it looked like? When you
look on Google earth, those tanks are all gone now.
