Here is my theory (just another way to look at it)
1. Chay is mature than his age, and the idea of settling down
comes from there.
2. He has certain expectations from his partner and Sam
pretended/promised to fulfill it.
3. Yes, there was love, but there were other factors too.
With Sam , chay was extremely practical.
4. Chay was going through some heartbreak and Sam entered his
life during this this time. And grab the golden opportunity.
Ditched sid in the process.
P .s- honestly , I also thought the same at one point but then I
went through his interviews and what i come across is that chay
is very my aware of the fact that marriage is not only love it
is beyond that.
Eager to your views?

This was more than a rebound relationship. Let's go with Sam not
being the love of his life. The heartbreak he suffered to propel
him to this must have been with someone quite extraordinary. The
only person he was linked to who fits that bill, that we know of
is Shruti: a case of having lost the best, second best would
do? ITA about seeiing the opportunity and ditching Sid.
Stubborn Chay: is it stubborn Chay or resolute/steadfast Chay?
Chay is disciplined. Once he decides on something he sees it
through. Stubborn suggests imperviousness to the good counsel of
others. Whose good counsel did he not listen to and in what
matter?

Yes, if you can find it, marriage = love +x,y,z. Why would chay
leave out love? Unless the love of his life was hopelessly lost
to him and the "safe, known" alternative arrived at the
opportune moment.

1. Yes, he keeps it private.
I really wonder despite being a part of film industry how does
he manage to do this?
2. Sam was alternative. Atleast this is what Sam used to think
or portrayed. And she said this before chay as well. So i assume
it is true.
3. Yes, may be Shruti is the only known affair of him. But I
highly doubt it was Shruti.
Shruti chay shared a friendship, even after their breakup. They
did Premam, together.
Till few months back she used to like chay's post on insta.
4. Yes, you are right, stubborn would be the wrong word.
Resolute will be appropriate. Strong headed guy.
5. No one knows anything about him. This is really strange. He
strictly maintains the professional code. Sam became part of his
life because they developed a friendship over the years. Unlike
any other actor, he won't involve with someone who he knows only
for few days.

1. Chay follows very few celebrity on insta. Most of them are
associated with him professionally or personally.
The only celebrity she follows but he is yet to do any project
with her is Sobita Dhulipal. The 'made in heaven ' girl.
Not only this, chay almost regularly liked her picture. But
sobita doesn't follow him.

Ya, Chay’s words are very measured. He makes sure there’s no
slip of tongue. He only projects to the media the image he wants
to portray. This divorce thing surely shook up that foundation
but he quickly fixed that. I believe he is himself only to the
people he is really close to. On the professional front, he is
very limited to his co actors. He is quite a mysterious man and
decoding him isn’t that easy. Adding to that, he is quite an
introvert. He makes sure he doesn’t spoil his family’s name.
As for the friendship bond in the marital life, he himself comes
from a broken marriage. Must have seen what his mother and
family went through. And to avoid, he might have preferred
someone whom is aware of everything about him, who knows all his
darkest secrets, who accepts him for what he is and isn’t trying
to change him into something else. Settling down with Sam was
for practical reasons more than love IMO.
Is he also scared of divorce? Ya, they are a modern family, open
to changes and all that.. but fact is divorce is still taboo in
India, especially in the Southern regions.

Sam's and Sobita's plastic surgeries and drew parallels between
them.

The best laid plans of mice and men. One can never escape that
by which one is bedevilled. He is now also divorced but
thnakfully there are no innocent victims. I 100% believe that
weighed heavily on the eventual decision to divorce viz. the
prospect of bringing a child into a relationship where something
fundamentally had shifted.

Absolutely!! Chay won't do anything by mistake. If he is doing
something then he really wants to do it. He is in that space of
mind.
He is not an easy guy, as it seems. It's said he is a cool guy
or doesn't mind anything. I would say he is extremely
intelligent, he knows where to react. His control over his words
is a proof for that.
One thing I know for sure, he was outranged when this character
assassination took place post his divorce, but he chose not to
react.
Chay-sam would never be together, ever, because of this.
